AWESOME!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE JUNE 17, 2010 - BOTH CONTINUE TO WORK GREAT. EXCEEDED MY OWN EXPECTATION.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I've purchased 2 of these for two different purposes. Both are GREAT! Easy to install (I am boarder-line incompetent when it comes to plumbing and even I was able to do this with only a couple trips to the local hardware store). The quality does not seem all the great ... but for the price and so far (one I've had and used for almost 2 months, the other almost a month) they work fine and there are no problems.FACTUALLY: It does seem to take a good half hour or more to heat up and re-heat once the hot water is used. It would not in any way be useful as a tank-less water heater since only lukewarm water at best comes out as the tank reheats. Also, I live in Southern California and it is the middle of summer. I don't know how long it will take and it's performance either during the winter when tap water is usually colder or what would happen in colder climates with near freezing water coming into the tank.NOTE: CHECK THE DIMENSIONS CAREFULLY. THE SIX (6) GALLON SIZE IS PRETTY BIG AND ALTHOUGH I DID NOT WANT TO ACTUALLY PLACE UNDER A SINK/VANITY, I DON'T THINK IT WOULD FIT UNDER ANY OF MY AVERAGE/ORDINARY SINKS OR VANITIES.USES:1. In an extra bathroom with no hot water, it provides enough for a quick but good shower.2. For a pet bathtub with no access to hot water, it make a GREAT warm bath for my now VERY HAPPY DOG!

RV Replacement
I used this for a replacement water heater in my travel trailer. It did not fit in the original space, so I installed it in the closet space and connected it with the original plumbing with plastic hose. You have to be plugged in to use it, but other than that it works great and at a cost of about 2/5th of what an RV water heater would cost.********UPDATE: 4 years and still going strong with the unit I installed in my travel trailer. I've spent about 2 of the last 4 years living in the trailer on job sites, so it has had a reasonable workout.About a year later I purchased a second one of these. I used it to feed a temporary shower in my basement while I was doing a bathroom remodel. Worked well for that use, too. That unit is now installed under the kitchen sink. It saved a long run from the house water heater to the kitchen, which saves quite a bit in this cold climate, and I don't have to wait for the hot water to reach the kitchen. In addition, the switch on the front of it allows me to switch it off when I'm going to be away from home and save even more.Recovery on these water heaters is about an hour.Needless to say, I'm very pleased with the performance and service and I'm about to order a third unit to run the washing machine.

wonderful thing................
this unit is great , we put it in our cabin with a wall switch to control it and it works fantastic. Turn it on and a half hour later it's ready with plenty of HOT water for a couple nice showers (1.5 gpm shower head) do the dishs etc. shut it off, and have nice very warm water the next morning. usually never even turn it on till evening again.. great product. we have been using it for @ 1 year nowUPDATE 4/2/18 Still using it, still working good, near 8 years in !!!!! only thing we found is with the well water here ANY heated water will eventually build up a smelly gas in the heater hot water...it is simple to fix just use the water till cold or let it cool and run the facets for awhile so the water with the smell is run out...turn it back on and good for @ 6 months ...we also found just leaving it on barely costs any more than letting it heat and cool.

Full fills the use it was intended for
I have waited sometime to really use this and see how it goes. We needed to replace our existed water heater. Our system is easy. It is a travel trailer occupied by 2 adults. We've chosen this water heater as our replacement. Installation was easy, some rewiring of our electrical system, some adapters for the fittings-that I found at Lowes. Make sure you get the fittings that attach to the water heater tight. With the water completely cold to completely hot takes less than 10 minuets. Yes, our water heater is HOT. The themostat is not all the way up and the water will scald if you are not careful. The hot water will last for a shower.6-14-15 Update. It is still working great. During a couple of hard rain storms we lost power for a short time. The unit has a reset button on it to help protect it. It functions as it should. There is also a indicator light that comes on to let you know when it is heating the water.

Quality issues...
Had this installed within a week of getting it. Within the first year, the wires that go to the heating element melted. The heat from the element did the deed. No matter what, I could never get the wires to stay cool. Eventually I had to scrap the unit as junk. It was not in the cards to make this work for what I wanted.

Good for the money.
Very efficient, small and nice that you can hang it on the wall.Con: It doesn't kick on soon enough after you start running water so it does turn cold fast but we only use it for a shop wash tub so it last long enough for everyone to wash up.

Great little heater
This is a great little heater, heats up fast and is fits easily under the sink, but we don't have a cabinet, so don't know how that would work.. It was harder to hook up than expected and it needs a safety drain which is unsightly, but we have it in a trailer we use only a few weekends a month so I unplug it when we leave and we have hot water within 20 minutes or less when we plug it in.
