Solar panel charging does not work
Undecided whether the unit stops cats. Cats still come into the garden but there is less deposits near the unit but not stopped totally. The main problem is that the solar panel does not work to keep the batteries topped up - even this week where we have had total sunshine all day for 7 consecutive days. I have to recharge the batteries through the USB port every couple of days. If you wish to try one of this type of units then my recommendation would be to choose one with batteries and accept you will have to change the batteries every so often. 3 months later altered to one star as unit stopped charging from USB. Gone into rubbish bin. Do not waste your money on this item is my recommendation.

Does the job
This is a decent bit of kit - it's successfully stopped the local cats fouling my driveway and borders, which was it's primary job. It has a decent range at maximum sensitivity, picking up movement at around 5-6m distance. It's also had the added sideeffect of stopping my cat-owning neighbours from talking to me (which could warrant an extra star). A couple of watchouts; on maximum settings both my wife and my young son can hear the emitter (I appear to be deaf to it, other than an occasional clicking sound) and find the sound uncomfortable, so that may be a consideration if you are (or live with anyone) sensitive to such things. And the second is that the emitter has some issues In the rain - which has caused mine to trigger continuously during heavy downpours, and occasionally even after the rain stops. This can be fixed by turning it off briefly and giving the sensor and solar panel a quick wipe down.

No change
I actually saw a fox, stopping right in front of the deterant, which was not detering any animal, it stood there looking at it and continued to go to the main part of my garden, where I had 3 more of these detarants, all different makes and none made a difference. In the main part of my garden, the cat actually done its business right in front of this gadget. It was like saying, this is making me do my business easier. They do not work. At the beginning it did but then they got used to them and just ignored. They have now started making nonstop annoying sound but I'm inside so doesn't matter but when I'm outside I have to turn it off. Oh these gadget actually work on my son and his wife. They found it unbearable so have to turn them off. So you can use them on family and some humans ๐ค ๐ ๐๐ but don't waste your money. I bought from a nurseries as well, Thomson in Crews Hill which cost a lot and that doesn't work either. So just invite them in

Product looks good but breaks easily
I've ordered two of these in the hope the first one was bad luck, but both have broken in the same way. The cycle the product goes though once it detects movement breaks and it never reaches ultrasonic sound (I can still hear it). So the product is essentially ineffective. It gets worse as both of them ended up breaking to the point the sounds and lights flashed all the time even when there is no motion, but still never reaching ultrasonic. As they broke so soon after getting them I couldn't actually tell if the ultrasonic sounds were actually effective against the foxes we have in our neighbourhood.

Happily suprised that these work.
Was a bit skeptical at first, but I've had these a month now and they seem to be doing the job of keeping cats out of my raised veg beds/lawn without deterring birds or the local hedgehog. I'm using setting No. 2, with the sensitivity at max. to get a detection range of about 6-8m at full charge. They charge in about 1-2 hours with the mains charger. It being Aug/Sept and UK, (with the solar panel in the sun 6+ hours/day) the Solar panel is keeping the battery topped up well for about a week before I have to charge again using the cable. I suspect I might be charging it every day come Dec/Jan. This is despite the scarers constantly activating due to nearby plant motion/passing bees etc. The "Sensitivity" dial really means "Detection Range", but the sensor will trigger at every plant motion and passing bee within that range. I can hear them when i'm in the garden but most of my friends/family can't, so I guess I just have sensitive hearing. However, the sensor also has a red light and also clicks on and off (my family can hear that) so if you can't hear the high pitch at least you can see if it is still working/needs charging.

Wow! This cat scarer actually works
Finally, managed to keep those pesky and feral cats, foxes and squirrels out-of my garden from date of purchase 27th July to date. The only downside is that when there is insufficient sun they do not work and I need to charge for at least 3 hours. In order to avoid a lull in its working, I am ordering a couple more, so that they are fully charged and ready to do the relay. Thank you, thank you.

Does not deter foxes or cats
This a very cheaply made product that does not work either. It makes a high pitch sound when a person goes by when it's supposed to be only a the high range that bothers animals. Did not deter foxes or cats from our yard. Waste of time buying this, we returned. Thank you Amazon Prime for making it easy to return the poor quality, non useful products.
