It’s brilliant—the best knitting book I own.
What an amazing book. I’ve just looked through the whole thing, read the stitch instructions, checked out how the charts work and am pretty sure it’s the best knitting book own (and I have so many lovely knitting books!) It’s just that this one is full of *unique* stitches, all the info needed is laid out well, the charts are clear, and the photos beautiful. It also encourages creativity by getting into pattern arrangements, which is something I’m into, but other knitters I know don’t really do—think this could really help people who so far have just be following patterns, but want to be more creative, learn how to think about pattern construction. What a lovely book! Would recommend for anyone who’s a confident chart reader.

Exquisite is truly the right adjective!
This is not a pattern book, although it does have a few basic patterns at the back. Its mainly a stitch dictionary of japanese pattern repeats. These seem to exemplify very fine textured designs with a mix of lace, small cables and crossed stitches, and small bobbles. If you like your knits textured, and want something for a fine gauge luxury knit or for a light summer top, then these are perfect. You do need to be comfortable using charts, this isnt a book for beginners, or those starting to improve. However, if you are at the stage of pushing your boundaries beyond the basics, and are confident enough to swop out one pattern repeat for another, then this is a great addition to any library. Whilst the full patterns are simple, there are a lot of free or very cheap pdf patterns of japanese knits online if you want a different style of jumper etc, but want something similar to be able to envisage the end result fairly easily. Etsy or Pinterest are the best for this sort of thing. Really happy with the book, now off to decide which ine ti use in my next project...

Das Buch umfaßt eine Vielzahl verschiedener Strickmuster. Es gibt Zopfmuster, Rechts- und Links- Muster und Spitzenmuster. Sie werden in sehr verständlicher Strickschrift dargeboten. Was unterscheidet das Buch also von anderen?
