Anyone have a power number on the suction, i haven't been able to find the technical specs online?

Kenmore does not publish suction power figures, however, the motor wattage is a good indication of potential suction power. The DU4080 is rated at 960 electrical watts. –Kenmore Support

Does it wash carpets?

Hi Kristina, No, the DU1040 is for dry vacuuming only. It does not wash. Kind regards, Kenmore Support

What is the difference between the DU4080 and DU4399 model other than price?

The DU4399 and DU4080 are similar, but the DU4399 offers a few additional features with our Hair Eliminator nozzle and a larger dust cup. The DU4399 also includes one additional accessory, the Pet HandiMate. We hope this helps! –Kenmore Support
