Although the ketogenic diet can be a healthy and satisfying diet for everyone, modifying it around other dietary restrictions can be challenging. People with dairy intolerances or allergies often struggle to adapt keto recipes, many of which rely on dairy staples like butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese. And good dairy-free alternatives can be hard to come by. Maria Emmerich solves that problem with her latest book, Easy Dairy-Free Ketogenic Recipes. Maria has been advising her clients to avoid dairy, at least during the initial stages of their foray into ketosis, for many years. She finds that even high-fat dairy products can stall weight loss and healing. Thatโs why she set out to create an entire book of recipes that are safe for people who are avoiding dairy. With Mariaโs delicious high-fat, low-carb recipes, dairy-free keto home cooks will never feel like they are missing out. Those recipes include: Almost Deviled Eggs Snickerdoodle Mini-Muffins Super Keto Pancakes Curry Chicken Meatballs Paella Broth Fondue Avocado Salmon Ceviche Juicy Pork Loin Avocado Toast Mint Chip Gelato Banana Bread And much more! Maria has gone out of her way to create an entire book of keto recipes that will appeal to everyone, whether they consume dairy or not. With more than 175 recipes and multiple meal plans catering to many different dietary needs and allergies (including AIP and vegetarian meal plans), Easy Dairy-Free Ketogenic Recipes strives to be the book that reaches the entire keto audience and becomes a staple in your keto kitchen. Review: Another great addition to my Keto library - I seem to have an addiction to Maria Emmerich cookbooks. This is my 7th book. I'm just trying some recipes from the book and will add pictures as I do. Here are some of the highlights: * Short info section at the beginning which outlines a keto diet and many tips about nutrients. It includes some snack ideas to keep on hand and gives a listing of some of the recipes that can be made in less than 10 minutes. *Gorgeous pictures of every recipe. *Nutritional information for every recipe *A 28 day basic meal plan (with nutritional information) *A 28 Day Egg free meal plan (with nutritional information) *A 7 Day Nightshade free meal plan (with nutritional information) *A 7 Day Vegetarian meal plan (with nutritional information) One of the first things I do when I receive a new cookbook is to add sticky tabs to all the recipes that I want to try. Here are some of the recipes that I tabbed. I listed them by section that Maria has in the book. Basics *Lemon Syrup *Cinnamon Syrup *Simple Bbq Sauce Break-Your-Fast *Lemon Minute Muffins *Loaded Scrambled Eggs *Lemon Poppyseed Waffles *Snickerdoodle Mini Muffins *French Toast Pudding *Breakfast Asparagus (pic included - easy to make and very delicious) - this is my go to breakfast now. Small Bites and Drinks *Virgin Strawberry Margarita Soups and Stews *French Onion Meatball Soup *Slow Cooker Thai Soup (pic - tasty soup but needs a bit more spice added to it - just in my opinion) Salads and Sides *Keto Brioche *Asian Coleslaw (Very nice flavor) Poultry *Chicken Shwarma *Grilled Jerk Chicken Thighs (pic - very nice flavor. I have never had Jerk before so I don't know how it compares) *Greek Chicken Thighs (pic -very good) *Bundt Pan Chicken *Sesame chicken (pic - delicious. I doubled the sauce ) *Dry rub wings (pic- I added a bit of sukrin gold to add a sweeter flavor and the wings were awesome) Beef and Lamb *Kung Pao Meatballs *Fajita kabobs (pic - delicious a bit spicier than I like so I will use less Cayenne next time) Pork *Sweet and Sour Meatballs (pictured below - Family approved - was very good - it made a lot of sauce so I froze the extra for next time and I have one less step) - used the extra sauce on chicken and it was delicious too. *30 Minute Porchetta *Hawaiian Luau Pork Fish and Seafood *Salt Crusted Fish *Bacon Wrapped Scallops *Cajun Shrimp Vegetarian Dishes *Sweet n Sour Cauliflower Sweet Endings *Sour Patch Candy *Flourless Chocolate Torte *Mocha Fudge Mug Cakes *Banana Bread *Classic Sherbet *Dirt Cake *Strawberries and Cream Panna Cotta *Chocolate Pudding Pops I will add pictures and comments on the recipes above as I make them. Pictures: Sweet and Sour Pork Meatballs Sesame chicken Breakfast asparagus Fajita kabobs Greek Chicken thighs Dry Rub Wings Jerk Chicken Thighs Breakfast asparagus Asian Coleslaw Slow Cooker Thai Soup Review: Mariaโs best Keto book yet! - I have been low carb for many years now. I have a severe gluten allergy, so I have to watch ingredients. Maria helped me get ready/lose weight and keep anxiety at bay for my wedding. I have all of her books. Her recipes, on her blog and the cookbooks, are tried and true. I always feel good eating them. Now that Iโve laid that ground work, this is my favorite of her cookbooks so far! Iโve already made several of the recipes and everything was delicious- exactly what Iโve come to expect. The majority of the book is also nut free from what Iโve seen. Everything comes together very quickly- which is exactly how I like to cook during the week. Some could be made even faster by marinating meat overnight which makes my love for this book even greater. Overall the recipes are very quick to come together. The pictures are beautiful, and my teenage son was super excited about eating everything in the book. Best of all, he probably could make most of the recipes because the steps are not complicated at all. So this would be a great gift for a college-bound/post college student or someone new to cooking. The ingredients are similar to all of Mariaโs other cookbooks so I wonโt have to buy anything special. If youโre new to the diet there might be a few staples you have to get. This is also a stand alone cookbook. If youโre new to keto there is a lot of information in the front to help you. There is a meal plan in the back of the book too.

Dairy-free Keto = Feeling Good Again!
This series of cookbooks is beautiful! My first impression upon receiving this title was that I was really getting a lot for the price. This is not a skimpy book, there are A LOT of recipes. In the introduction, there's a helpful review of the hows and whys of the ketogenic lifestyle. I appreciate the reminder about how my nutrition choices - including vitamins, minerals, hydration, etc. - affect my well-being. Also included are meal plans in the back for readers who like that option. I have learned that for my body to recover from adrenal fatigue, with the onset over 3 years ago and going into remission, and some chronic pain that started 1 year ago and has been hard to diagnose, I need to be a strict adherent to an anti-inflammatory diet. When I tried following a ketogenic plan in the past, it turns out that I was not satisfied with the results because I was making several mistakes (to learn more about that, see Maria Emmerich's The 30-Day Ketogenic Cleanse). One of the mistakes, for me anyway, was not going dairy-free! Another was including baked goods with almond flour. This dairy-free focused cookbook helps me formulate the best possible combination of foods/nutrients for energy, zero hunger between meals, and a return to the joy of eating! I have noticed a dramatic reduction in the level of pain I'm experiencing - what a relief! At 65 and optimal weight, I'm eating this way because my focus is to feel my best - and it is definitely happening. When I thumb through the book for inspiration, there are so many beautiful choices and smart tips to help me (I do not consider myself a great cook; I need encouragement and solid directions). This is a cookbook that I cherish. It is a cookbook where I can feel the love the author put into its recipes, both in the way they are presented AND the way the plan makes me feel.

Fantastic buy!
This is an excellent cookbook! The front is packed with information about the science behind eating keto. Their are a wide variety of recipes for breakfast, meals, sides, treats and condiments. Everything is well planned and the photos are beautiful. It has a wide variety of meal plans for different special diets within keto. It couldn't be easier to use... and the recipes are out of this world. Maria has a way of making "traditional" foods fit the ketogenic lifestyle with great flavors and variety that give you 0 excuses for missing things you may now try to avoid. I never thought I could be happy with eating if I was dairy free or that I would be able to do intermittent fasting without going hungry. I feel so much better, am losing weight without hunger, and am enjoying really good food made in my own home. Thank you Maria!!

Much more than a book of recipes
If you are contemplating a dairy free Ketogenic cook book stop here! This is the one you want. Let me start by saying that I own many of Maria's books but got this one to try eliminating diary in an attempt to further heal my thyroid disorder. In every one of her books she takes the time to educate the reader regarding the basics of what a ketogenic diet is and isn't. There is a lot of misinformation about keto out on the internet and I think that by including this information, it speaks volumes as her integrity and responsibility to her readers. This cook book has everything you will need to get going on your ketogenic lifestyle. From how to get started to tips on skirting the โketo fluโ, testing for ketones to managing your macro and micronutrient balance as well as meal planning. So far, every recipe that I have tried is simply delicious! The variety is vast. Sheโs included appetizers, salads and soups. Entrees of poultry, beef, lamb, pork, fish and vegetarian dishes. Desserts and sides. But my favorite is all of the amazing sauces that she has included! Somehow it always feels decadent to have a delicious sauce to drizzle over my meal and these are amazing! Enjoy!

Good cookbook for the dairy-free. But use common sense with some of the instructions!
First, I'm so happy that there's a Ketogenic cookbook that is dairy-free. I am lactose-intolerant and I really think it will make the difference between sticking to this way of eating and not. There's a lot of variety in this book to keep me cooking creatively which is important to me. I also like that the author didn't include recipes that simply substitute imitation cheeses. Even before I couldn't eat dairy I didn't like cheese and am so happy to see recipes not dependent on it. I've had the cookbook for 3 days and have tried several of the recipes. Last night I made 2 of them: Pork Chops with Dijon gravy on page 242, and Keto Custard on 339. The instructions for the Dijon gravy are to "Stir until slightly thickened". I knew that wasn't going to happen since it was just 2 ingredients; chicken broth and mustard. Let's just say it looked nothing like the picture which I think had to have been thickened for the purpose of the photo. Also, the gravy is white in the picture - don't know how that happened with 2 yellow ingredients! As for the custard recipe, there is a glaring mistake. The directions are to bake at 325ยฐ for "8 to 10 minutes". As an experienced cook I knew there is no way this could be accomplished. At the 10 minute mark the custard was still a liquid. I then took the 4 ramekins from the oven, added them to a pan filled with hot water (to the middle of the ramekins) and put them back in the oven. They were finally done "50" minutes later (1 hour in all). The custard is delicious but be aware it needs a lot more time in the oven than 10 minutes! Good cookbook and I'll enjoy using it. I just think common sense will have to prevail with some of the recipes.

Makes dairy-free Keto so much easier!
This recipe book is one of my favorites. Being on Keto can be difficult at times but being dairy-free on Keto is really tough! Having a big book of recipes is so helpful. Every single recipe has a photo. The nutritional info (calories, fat, protein, carbs, and fiber per serving) is posted and is a great aid if you are tracking your macros. The recipes are practical and realistic dishes that my family would actually eat. Everything is very easy to make with simple directions and they don't include uncommon ingredients. I hate buying a $16 tiny bottle of X spice just to use it one time! The end of the book includes a 28-day meal plan, a 28-day egg-free meal plan, a 7-day nightshade-free meal plan, and a 7-day vegetarian meal plan. A huge bonus for those with food allergies!

I love everything Emmerich writes
I love everything Emmerich writes. Her โversionโ of keto is not just life changing but also the first diet Iโve ever done where Iโm happy, full, and excited to keep going. As someone whoโs concerned not just about weight loss but also health, this dairy free cookbook is the best. The recipes are easy and youโre feeding yourself real foods. If youโre used to keto being all about cream cheese and pork rinds, think again. And if youโre used to diets being about feeling deprived of yummy food or being hungry, think again too. I recommend this cookbook to everyone. These are recipes your non-dieting husband, kids, and friends will all like. Iโve served all of these recipes at dinner parties and no one had a clue it was โdiet food!โ From ribs to pork chops to sesame chicken, with appetizers and desserts in between, there is something for everyone in this cookbook. Highly recommend her 30 day ketogenic cleanse book as well. Both have wonderful meal plans - but if, like me, meal planning is a bit much for you, pick two recipes and make double batches of each to last you the whole week!

Truly Inspiring!!
Another outstanding book from Maria Emmerich. I now have most of her books and they have absolutely changed my understanding and approach to the food we eat. She and her husband Craig do the most amazing job in bringing us the latest information on the way eating low carb can benefit each and every one of us. They share their research and help in the most simplistic and clear manner .... and the food is AMAZING. My husband does not follow my low carb way of eating, but this does not complicate our meals in any way....and he is always totally amazed at the food we eat, it really can be eaten by the whole family. As I now have most of her books I don't ever feel the need to look elsewhere when meal planning. A huge thank you to Maria and Craig for everything you have done and continue to do!
