Works great and my husband loves it. It makes his coffee experience much better. It is better than the Brevile one that came with the machine.

As an avid coffee lover and home barista, I purchased the espresso tamper for my Breville machine. After using it for some time, here are my thoughts: The Goods: Perfectly level and uniform pucks: With the espresso tamper, I can achieve perfectly level and uniform coffee pucks every time, resulting in consistently good shots. Well-made and heavy: The tamper feels premium and well-made with its weight and sturdy construction, giving me confidence that it will last for a long time. Repeatable pressure: The lip around the tamper ensures that I apply the same amount of pressure every single time, which is crucial for consistent shots. The Bads: Pop-back feature not reliable: While the tamper has a pop-back feature, it only works a small percentage of the time, so I don't rely on it. Limited size options: It would be great if the tamper came in more size options, especially for those who have non-standard size filter baskets. No storage or carrying case: The tamper doesn't come with any storage or carrying case, which would have been helpful to keep it clean and protected when not in use. Overall, I would highly recommend the espresso tamper for anyone who takes their coffee seriously and wants to achieve consistently good shots. It is a great investment and an essential tool for any home barista.

It's good but could be perfect. The pressure is good. I feel like it's the correct amount of push to compact the Puck. I have two (small) issues with it. First is that it's just a tiny bit smaller than it needs to. At least for my rocket - it could be a tiny tiny but wider. But that might be my set up. My second issue is there is a small pop after I'm done pressing down and ready to remove from the portafilter. So when I'm don't and compacted, there is like a mint jolt that can disturb the puck just a tiny bit. Am I being picky? Yes Would I buy again? Yes Does it feel like it's great quality? Yes. I wouldn't let my review detour anyone from buying. I just think it could be a tiny bit better making it perfect.

Things great. I was have trouble getting the right tamp pressure and it was making my mornings a pain in the neck. This things takes all the guess work out of it and I haven’t had problems since. 10/10. Looks great too. Edit: after using for a month still love it only thing I’d recommend doing is opening it up and add some wd-40 or some sort of lubricant makes it work much smoother.

Heavy duty tamper did not disappoint. The material feels sturdy and reliable. And the spring loaded feature makes using it full-proof especially for someone like me who has no sense of what level is. It is compatible with a 54mm portafilter and is snug enough to use mess free. I love the appearance of the rings it leaves behind. Overall a very easy to use and versatile product and worth the money.

I had this same tamper for my Breville Barista Express, so when I upgraded it seemed like no-brainer to get one for 58mm. In short, it's a great tamper. It's designed so that people, like me, can tamp properly. It works incredibly well because it's self leveling, and calibrated. So you kinda have to go out of your way to get an uneven tamp with inconsistent pressure. Which, again, for people like me is a blessing. The one criticism I have is that grinds do have a tendency to get stuck on the side of the tamping plate... which can make the calibrated handle feel a little hung up. Simply clean off the grinds on the side and it's good to go.

I ordered this to try and improve my coffee and try and get consistent tampering.. The simply fact is, it easily jams on the push down which then means there is no spring compression and no consistency.
