Measurements in MM: Base thickness: 6mm 90 degree groove aluminum thickness: 5mm Length between upright pieces: 12mm Top of aluminum to nylon insert: 15mm Thickness of Nylon insert: 10mm Without the nylon insert length would be: 25mm total depth without that inserted I should note, the two piece that hold the insert in to make contact, so I recommend using electrical tape or something over the top if you're worried about paint damage. Hopefully that gives you the info you need.

Will the plastic dent or cave in from the weight of the car over time?

It's a hard plastic, I can't imagine it would do so!

my car's pinch weld seam sits on the white magnetic part, is that safe?

Yes. The white part is teflon that doesn't compress. The magnets are set into the teflon and do not go all the way through. They are not baring the weight of your car.
