Is there a way to completely disable the sound on the countdown clock?

I’ve never used the countdown function. I just needed the clock

How long is the power cord?

This Large Digital Wall Clock with Remote Control, the power cord is 78 Inch, very suitable for for Living Room Office Garage Gym!

Does the clock need to be plugged in to stay on, or does it work only using battries?

It needs to be plugged in. It comes with a USB cord, so I had to use a block to plug it in to the wall, but I already had one. It does not come with one which is inconvenient.
