Amazing water filter
We wanted a filter for our sink and I ordered the x16 and it was really easy to install. I will say I was impressed at the size of this thing. It’s massive. I liked the x16 over other filters I’ve seen because the filters are replaced via the front, not the top. I also liked the faucet. Installation was very easy, hardest part was the drain hose but that wasn’t hard it was just nerve racking drilling a hole in the pipe. But it’s really not a big deal. Assembly, priming and using it couldn’t be easier. I love that it shows the TDS on the filter, without this my water supply is around 75, with it it’s around 11. Water taste crisp and fresh thanks to the remineralizer and it’s fast. Can fill a pitcher or cooking pot in seconds. I recommend this.

Very good and high flow rate
I am on well water. Wanted a filter that would take out lead and any contaminants. Even though my water tested fine without any filter I figured it could not hurt. In my research I found that filters that remove everything (like reverse osmosis) are not so great because your body begins to leach the minerals etc.. that’s missing from the water. (or so I’ve read) So finding a reverse osmosis system that also puts back minerals was important to me. I also wanted one that I could install myself, and one that had a high flow rate so I wasn’t standing at it all day waiting for my glass or pot to fill up. This system was easy to install, puts the minerals back in, and has the highest flow rate I could find. It also wastes about as little water as you can with a 1:1 ratio. I fill up a pitcher, put it in the fridge. I also use it to cook with. I’ve had it about 4 months now and it’s been working flawlessly.

Great product AND customer service!
Awesome product that continues to work great! When we needed a replacement part, customer service was so helpful and always responded right away. They went above and beyond. When we needed a new faucet we were glad to see they made improvements on it, like a less powerful stream that makes less mess and fills cups much better.

Almost perfect
Love the black matte look. Love the water speed. Filter works really well. Water tastes great. But am not pleased at how flimsy the cover panel is for something this expensive. It's attached to the main unit by magnets. On mine, only one magnet is holding strong, the other three are weak and so the panel falls off pretty easily. Sent an email in tm them asking for a replacement and never got a response.

Taste good after 10 days
For 10 days it tasted like steel, after that the flavor is amazing. Noise level feels loud at first but I just got used to it to the point of not noticing it. Not the easiest to install unless you have previous knowledge of installing easy water filters and understanding how osmosis tubes work with the lock mechanism, check a youtube video for that.

Fast tankless RO, but not the fully documented premium system I expected
I bought the X16 expecting a premium RO system with filtration protection that would be easy to verify, but Waterdrop was slow to respond when I contacted them directly, so I had to request clarification through Amazon. Though this product has been out since 2024, the datasheets/filtration specifications were only updated after my recent inquiry from Amazon--the manufacturer website used to resolve to X12 from "view report". What I found was a fast tankless machine with NSF/ANSI 42, 58, and 372 in the public model-specific documentation, but not the same clear 53 and 401 coverage that other higher-confidence systems publish in North America. For me, that matters because 372 is a materials standard, not a contaminant-removal standard, and 53/401 are where you see the cleaner public documentation for things like cysts, lead, mercury, VOCs/chloroform, PFAS, BPA, estrone, ibuprofen, trimethoprim, and microplastics, often in municipal/city water (not like NY). The second problem is context: Waterdrop rates this system at 1600 GPD under 30 psi dynamic feed pressure, and the manual ties low output, booster-pump cycling, and loud sound to unstable or low pressure. So even if your municipal water is relatively clean, this can still be a riskier choice in an older shared building, especially if you are not on a lower floor, do not own the property, do not know how the plumbing after the main/meter is maintained, or share pressure swings with neighbors. What matters is the actual residual PSI at your unit under flow, not just the city supply on paper. If you are on a lower floor and know the building’s post-main plumbing is in good shape, that is one thing; in an upper-floor or shared apartment setup, height, building layout, and real-world pressure loss can absolutely affect performance. The third problem is flexibility: Waterdrop’s warranty says alterations and using non-Waterdrop accessories/filters for this product can void coverage. So if you later decide you need additional treatment to get the broader protection the public X16 docs do not clearly give you, you can lose the warranty-backed setup you paid for. For me, the X16 was not comprehensive enough, or documented clearly enough, for the price.

Excellent output and efficient.
Handles two drink fillers in two different parts of the house, all while keeping this RO system in the basement. It pushes the water 30' to one sink and roughly 20' in a different direction to another.
