Mephisto Women's Elka Slide Sandal

Purchased this shoe (blk neubuck) several years ago, it was so comfortable that I wanted another pair. It had an upbeat look, not like many of the other comfort shoes that look clunky. The Elka has a modern look and can keep up with today's strappy sandals. Never had a break in time period and the heel is within the recommeded height (2 inch) by doctors. Good solid foundation and forget am even wearing shoes. Purchased the tan, they are adjustable so the fit is good. The price was the best of all the sites that carried this style.

I am very pleased that these sandals fit exactly the same as the first pair I bought about fifteen years ago, and that the quality is just as good. I usually take a size 7 and a half (38) in closed shoes, but I know that a size 7 in the Elka is perfect for me and fits the arch of my foot well. The size 8 would be too long. This is my fifth pair of Elka slides and basically I do not bother wearing anything else during the summer as they are comfortable and support my feet and my back well while providing a little height and cushioning from the hard ground. And they don't look clunky and are dressy enough to wear with a skirt. Would love to see these in red patent!

I purchased this item on amazon.com using my prime acccount and two day free shipping. The item was fulfilled by zappos and sold on amazon. When I received the item they sent the wrong color. I ordered nubuk color and they sent patent leather black which I promptly returned. It was free return shipping but I was disappointed. They did send the correct color right away so I was happy again. Now the Elka mephisto is my most favorite shoe. I have been wearing this style for 15 years and hardly want to be without it. It is not a cheap shoe but it is so comfortable that I have to have it. I buy a half size larger and it fits perfectly. I wear them without socks of any kind. I hope they never stop making these shoes. Ordinarily this shoe is $185 but I paid $105 I could not find any fault or flaws with the shoes and I do not think they are seconds. I am pleased with my purchase and if you like a wedgie type sandal you should try this brand and style out.

This shoe style and Mephisto as the maker are the perfect shoe for me. This is is my fourth Elka. Before I retired (after 15 years) last year, I was the senior pastor of a church,responsible for every Sunday's service. White Elka went with my white Summer preaching robes, and in Winter, I wore blue/grey suede Elkas that matched my grey Winter preaching robe. I wore them til the leather lost its support and finally found another pair of white ones. I couldn't find Elkas for a while, much to my dismay, and now i have a new pair and I rejoice at the comfort, support and style.When Summer comes again, I'll be treating myself to a new pair of white Elkas, you can be sure.

I would have loved to have kept these sandals, but there was not enough arch support. It may be enough for many people, but if it is among your top shoe priorities you will find it to be lacking. I bought a pair of the Helen, and those do have plenty of arch support. The Elka is a very feminine looking shoe with a nice slim line. I would say size up.

This is a very good shoe with a solid base which is important for me given my flat feet have broken shanks on some shoes in the past. They are somewhat stiff but I'll assume that's because they are new. My only complaint overall for Mephisto is they run small and I would like wide widths and then I would not have to usually size up. Mephisto continues to provide excellent quality that cannot be found anywhere else.

I wish that my feet would permit me to wear a higher heel in a really fashionable style. But they won't. Mephisto's Elka Slide Sandal is my "go to" pair of shoes. I wear them often. I wear them out often (not that they are poorly made ... I just wear them very often in all kinds of weather). The price is high but for the excellent manufacturing and beautiful styling I pay the price. Over and over. I have purchased 5 pairs of these over the last 4 years.

I love Mephisto, have several styles - but these shoes were stiff, pinchy, and not nearly as nice looking as the photo.
