I bought the SeeMee 300 a few years back and liked it enough that when it was time to replace it, I went with the SeeMee 400. Glad I did. This newer one is even better than the old one. It’s brighter, seems to last longer, and has a lot of useful flash and brightness settings. For around the price, I honestly don’t think you can beat it. It gets attention in daylight and is plenty bright at night too. Easy to mount and easy to use without messing with it every ride. This is my second light from them so, If you need a tail light with a lot of features, this one is worth considering.

The MagicShine SEEMEE 300/400 bike Taillight is absolutely brilliant. It mounts easily and securely with the optional MJ-6556 Saddle Mount, and it removes just as easily for safekeeping. I love the optional displays. I prefer the slow flash that leaves the light illuminated between bright pulses. I particularly like the downward-pointing light at the bottom that illuminates the back of the bike and ground in red - hard for even the most inattentive motorist to miss. Rechargeable battery is strong, and the weight is reasonable for its small size and strength. I've used a lot of portable bike tail lights - this one is the winner.

Great product. Light shines bright and can be seen even in daylight. The best thing is that the battery lasts FOREVER. Or at least for 500 miles. I had one issue with the strap but Hannah at MagicShine resolved the issue quickly and to my complete satisfaction. Thank you Hannah!

perfectly functioning light. However, difficult to gauge when it turns off. Because you only really know when it's <20% battery (when >30% or so, it's green light indicator), it's difficult to gauge whether you can make the next long-ish ride. Of course, in an ideal world, I would charge it before I go on a ride >30 minutes. However, sometimes, I don't. And for good, or bad, this light is very bright (which is great!), but because it's so bright, it chews through battery aggressively. I have had several times where the light was off when I got home. Now, is this the lights fault? absolutely not. I'd rather have a bright light that has the option of being dim, rather than a dim light that has no option of being bright. AND, I want it in a small and light package. So, this is just something you should know before getting this. This light is definitely an upgrade from any of the other cheaper lights. extremely bright, the break detection works great. The fact taht it has two bright lights and also another light pointing down is great. However, just make sure you're also a responsible person so that you don't end up with no tail light when you need it most. If you just want a light that works for 1 month without babysitting it. Just go with a light with less lumens. I personally use it on max brightness setting for about 40 minutes a day, and I have learned to charge it about 2-3 times a week and it's been working great. I can probably go a week but have learned to just incorporate the charging in my routine rather than forgetting about it for 2 weeks.

Update 01 DEC 2025: Much to my surprise, Magicshine reached out and offered my money back. Well, the light “works” but I had to create a custom mount. Instead, I asked for another light as I need another bright tail light. Now I have two and am building another custom bracket. The light is that good, I don’t mind spending time making it work. It’s your call. If you have to mount the light anywhere other than the seatpost, you will have to get creative (added photos for reference). See my original review below for details. I’m adding a star back due to customer support. Oh, Magicshine claims to be working on better mounts, and I believe them after seeing their new Hori 1300 light with a Garmin mount. Hope this helps. ————————————————————— First, the good: Brightest tail light I own, and I’ve owned many. Great side and rear visibility day and night. Great battery life. Near perfect design. The bad: The mount really ruins this fabulous light. Why? Because it only mounts to the bike seat or seat post, and it does so in a flimsy, non-standard way. In other words you cannot mount this light on a rack or vertical bike part…Only angled seat tubes. Who on Earth made this design choice? Every other light I own easily adjusts to anything, allowing mounting to a rack, pack, rear triangle, seat post, helmet, etc. The good lights feature adjustments to aim the light so cars can see it. With a non-adjustable angle built into the mount, the light either angles up towards the sky or down to the road if mounted on anything other than the seat post. No amount of brightness makes up for a misaligned light. Worse yet, if you ride with a trunk bag, you can’t use a seat light because your bag blocks the light. Magicshine gives you zero options for any other mounting options, so you either get creative or return the light. Also, all my other lights have a secure quick release design that is trustworthy. This quick mount just doesn’t inspire confidence. Why not use a standard Garmin or Planet Bike Superflash mounting design??? Ugh. Magic shine, you were so close to perfection…but the mount is such a weak point. Me? I had to make a custom mount with glue and plastic since there is zero vertical adjustability. I shouldn’t have to engineer a solution because Magicshine’s designers couldn’t get it right. The light is too expensive to justify such a brain-dead, inflexible mount. It’s your call. If you ride with just spandex on your bike, this light will work on your seat post. Anything else may block or mis-aim the light, and no amount of lumens can correct for this. SEEMEE 300 REAR LIGHT. REVIEW. Good working item. Visible in darkness and daylight. Easy mounting and charging. You can remove it and travel with it on your person while parked then reattach when ready to go. Charge lasts about 8 -10 days depending on time riding. I commute daily. I use the flashing light settings. This light increases your visibility from behind. People notice me on my bike better especially when coming up behind. A very useful device indeed. Very easy to mount onto my seat post, very bright and visible even at the lowest setting, and the mixture of static and flashing lights gives me assurance that I'll be seen at night. I usually just keep the light on the low setting with a slow flash, that's more than enough for me. Battery life is very good as well, but I only ever use it for 10 minute stretches so if you use it longer naturally it'll need charging more often. Short rides and you should be fine to not worry about it for over a month. Recommend, worth the price.

The light is nice and bright and definitely increases visibility on the roads. I got it connected and working with my Wahoo Element Roam 2, but I had to reset the pairing on the light to get it to be discovered. At the end of a ride, the light turns off, and it turns back when I start the next ride. Very convenient! My problem with this light is what most taillights with a sensor "brake light" feature suffer from: it gets triggered from bumps in the road. Unless the roadway is perfectly smooth, the brake light will be getting triggered and unnecessarily running down the battery. It's quite unfortunate though because it triggers pretty much instantly for a legitimate braking event. The brake light also does not turn off when acceleration resumes - it stays on for the entire 4-5 second duration that it stays on. I would not recommend using this device with the braking feature enabled.

I’m very happy with this bike light because it is exceptionally bright, which is exactly what I need for riding at night. It does a great job of signaling my presence to cars on the road, helping me feel much safer and more visible to drivers. Even without a motion sensor, the consistent high-output beam and various flash modes provide excellent long-range visibility. It’s a sturdy and dependable light that keeps me secure during my commutes. A great investment for any cyclist who prioritizes being seen and staying safe!

This light has some very opinionated design decisions in the software, and to the product folks out there....if you're gonna be opinionated in your design, you're gonna get opinionated reviews. Buckle up, 'cause it's gonna get a little rough. The tl;dr: Excellent hardware that forces high power consumption on you, whether you want it or not, so that instead of up to 11hrs of battery life, you get 2-3 when riding in darkness. (And yes, this is a problem - I don't want to have to charge the battery every single day.) On the plus side: USB-C charging, excellent battery capacity; good battery life* in the mode I use most frequently; many modes; mode memory; quarter-twist mount. Now for that asterisk on the "good battery life": What I want out of a bike taillight is something that flashes stupid-bright so that the doofus in the car coming up behind me looking at their phone has something catch the corner of their eye and get their attention. And this does have an excellent daytime-bright flash mode. All good so far. The problem, though, is that once it starts to get even the slightest bit dark outside, it switches to this mode where it pulse-glows out the back and shines a bright red light directly to the pavement. At no time in my life have I worried about being hit by a car coming at me from below the surface of the pavement. I get that "provide visibility from the side" thing, but guess what - you extend the lens around the side of the housing a centimetre or so and that 300lm flash (that you turned off in favour of some slowly pulsing glow) gets people's attention. "But it's too bright at night", you say? Impossible. Nothing is "too bright" for a bike to get noticed, particularly when it's red. Goal #1 through #20 is "get noticed". So, not only does the light go from a bright flashing "HERE I AM!!!" flash to a dull slowly pulsing light is that there's now TWO LED'S soaking up battery power, so the runtime of the light goes from 11hrs to maybe 3hrs at best. Yay (insert sarcasm emoji here). And if/when the battery does run low, instead of doing what it can to extend that runtime by....you know,....GOING TO THE FLASH MODE THAT LASTS FOR 11 HOURS, it instead glows even brighter so that you notice that your light is running low. Which....ok, great -- the light let you know. But what can you do about it for the remaining hour of riding until you get home...? Nothing. Just accept the fact that your light is gonna go out sooner than necessary. And then it has a brake light function: In theory, you hit the brakes on your bike, and the light shines brighter. There's no wire/sensor like there is on a car, of course, so it has to rely on some electronic sensor. So, I realize this isn't easy. But come on: If you're riding at like 35kph on flat road, peddling at 90rpm or whatever, if your speed varies between 35.8 and 35.5....the brake light should not come on. And yet it does - again just absolutely KILLING the battery life. The best part of all of these "features" is that MagicShine makes absolutely none of it configurable. If you WANT to just keep the low-power super-bright flasher going once it gets dark (and by "dark", I mean roughly half an hour before sunset on a clear day - why?!), instead of the light switching to the highest power consumption mode, well, go buy another light. Because this one won't let you. So I did. In short, this is a great light with TERRIBLE software.

Used this for the first time a few days ago and it worked well. However after my ride yesterday in heavy fog and a bit of rain it has completely stopped working. Can't say if it was weather related or something else. It's supposed to be water resistant and certainly should be useable in wet weather. What a waste of money.
