- Made in Cambodia - Excellent tread - Composit toe, not steel, but almost as hard - Construction looks and feels solid - A bit of weight to them but not overly so - Insole removable - Insole padding minimal but not bad The heel does indeed sort of "lock" in. It's quite comfortable. I could have used a little more padding at the ankle but it's not bad This has several fairly serious attributes for fit, comfort, and work. A lot of protection and good energy return without a ton of weight. I don't find the toe box any smaller but I guess that'll vary by individual. I think these are pretty impressive.
