Good Motherboard

A great motherboard. It installed really easily in my microATX case and I have had some great performance with it. The BIOS is a bit crowded and is the reason why Asus lose a point. Once you get used to it, it's fine, but there are a bit too many options I think. Some people wish to overclock and others don't, so I think the non-overclockers (that's me) shouldn't have to see the myriad of CPU and memory adjustments that can be made. That said, most of the options in the BIOS can be ignored so you can focus on the options that count. I installed Windows 7 64-bit and it works perfectly with this motherboard (note: Skylake CPU is required if you want to use Windows 7, Kaby Lake CPU will not work). I enabled the Compatibility Support Module, enabled XHCI hand-off and Legacy USB mode, ensured Secure Boot was disabled and used Asus' EZ Installer (included with the board) to create a bootable USB stick preloaded with Wndows 7 and appropriate USB3 drivers. Windows 7 runs great. The front page of the BIOS has a really easy one-click performance button. You can set it to "standard" (which sets all the clocks to default speeds), "optimised" (which gives everything a small overclock") or "power saving" (which maximises the power saving features of the board at the expense of performance). I typically don't overclock, I usually run everything at stock speeds. But for this board, I chose the "optimised" setting and the performance boost is quite nice and was really easy to do. You just have to remember to save BIOS settings and restart after changing the performance setting in order for the changes to take effect (this is not made clear in the BIOS). The BIOS includes Asus QFan which has made fan control really easy. With my old board, I had to use a resistance cable to reduce fan speed but with QFan, I just draw a graph showing where the speeds should rise and fall depending on temperature. It's really easy and it's great to have this feature in the BIOS. The manual includes descriptions of all the BIOS features. This is great but it would have been better if the manual stated the recommended settings for various scenarios. For example, "Enable XHCI handoff if you use Windows 7" or "Secure boot requires Windows 10". Overall, a really good board with good performance and some nice BIOS features.

I must have now built over 50 systems using Asus motherboards over many years. This board is easily the worst of all. It is not the hardware that is the main problem, it is the immature BIOS. Asus used to issue updated firmware very quickly after launch, but over recent months their rate of firmware updates for all boards has been very slow – presumably they have been busy giving priority to developing Ryzen boards. The system stability is very poor, even with the mild “standard” overclocking options available in EZ-Mode – such as XMP and “Syncing of cores”. When installing Windows 10 64-bit you must install the Anniversary Edition (1607) or later. If you chose an earlier edition, it is not possible to install the LAN driver and the controller will not work – making online updates impossible. One of its good features is that it supports two M.2 PCIe SSD’s on the board. Both of them are very close to the graphics card slot, and one will be directly in the exhaust of the graphics card. Before buying this board ensure that it has all the features you need. It is the most basic of the Prime 200 Series motherboards, and some of the features highlighted by Asus in the Prime 200 Series general overview are not on this board. I am sure that Asus will eventually make the system reliable, but in the meantime be prepared for problems if you intend to overclock and use NVMe SSD’s.

Tiene las características muy completas y la instalación ha sido muy sencilla. Perfecta con un i5 para un PC de salón.

Je sais qu'il s'agit ici d'un produit reconditionné . Heureusement que la carte a l'air de bien fonctionner.

Fantastica scheda madre per me esiste solo Asus

No esperaba menos de una placa ASUS, pero esta me parece de un gran nivel a un precio asequible. Todo el mundo sabe que vale la pena ir a por una placa Intel ZX70 y esta es una buena solución para los que se conformen con las ampliaciones de una mATX. El sistema de EZ BIOS es muy potente y fácil de usar.

habe ein Motherboard gesucht das mein altes Asus maximus gene viii ersetzen sollte. bin mit diesen fündig geworden Die Verarbeitung ist im großen und ganzen wirklich gut. Pro: Preisleistung ist hervorragend gutes bios und overclocking Contra: an den x16 steckplätzen hat Asus so gelbe Blinkende LED lichter Platziert nerven mich ziemlich die Kühler für die Northbridge sind nicht wirklich Stabil fixiert wollte das mobo von da anheben (hab ich immer bei meinen rog board gemacht da der fest angeschraucht war) bei diesen wackelt es ziemlich wären diese 2 Punkte wäre das mobo sehr gut gelungen daher nur 4 Sterne
