Flip flops without flap!
Feels like walking barefoot with a protective sole. Not good for walking in fluffy sand or water, the front kinda drags, but absolutely great for walking around! I like that they feel as free as flip flops, but they're secured so they don't slap my heel with every step and I can walk quicker. The price stings for a pair of sandals, but the price includes excellent customer service: one of my toe loops broke (anything man made can fail) and a few emails later I had a new set of loops and instructions. Looking forward to see where these take me! They run a little large, I wear size12 or 13 shoes depending on the cut, size 12 fits ok. Fun fact: airport security still made me take these off.

Minimalist sandal that misses the mark.
I've owned a number of minimalist running shoes as well as a pair of Luna's. I found the bottom rubber to be too thin and floppy for anything but very light use. While hiking the front toe area folds under very easily, and I found it distracting. I thought I'd give them a try since they were similar to some Luna sandal models, but much cheaper. I also found them uncomfortable to wear to long periods.I favored the strapping over the Luna model I have, but overall floppy material and thinness of the footbed rendered the sandal difficult to use for me. I returned them.

Had to chime in
After reading a few reviews I felt the need to chime in and leave my experience with these amazing sandals.I'm a seasoned barefoot runner/hiker and I've tried just about every barefoot shoe/sandal/mocassin/loafer there is.These sandals aren't perfect. When it comes to barefoot shoes you can't have perfect because everyone's foot is different. They can stink but not very much and it takes a while for them to develop a smell. To prolong the smell you need to use powder and wash them regularly with vinegar or whatever substance you prefer.I have walked many many miles for over a year in these and I also hike in them. The pictures are from me hiking up piestewa peak at 2 PM with a temperature of 104. They are very durable and well made. It's not a "beginner" sandal for barefooters. For that you might want to check out the z-trek sandal. As far as I'm concerned the folks at Xero shoes are doing God's work. I hope you guys never stop making these innovative and ancestrally appropriate shoes๐๐

Had to return these.
Didn't like these at all. I do buy into the whole "barefoot" concept, but these shoes are not for me. Felt like I was tripping when wearing them, and I think this is an awful lot of money for very little in the way of value.

The most uncomfortable thing Iโve ever put on my feet
I have purchased several pair of Xero shoes as Iโm always intrigued by the concept but the execution always comes short. These sandals are by far the worst of the ones Iโve tried. They require constant adjustment and rub and chaff all over. The back heel strap is especially finicky and uncomfortable and rubs the heel nonstop. I really wanted to like them but for me they are a huge swing and a miss.
