well worth the money, great buy
The scales are plastic, or resin, very well fitted, shinny and can be removed. The sickle and hammer emblem is bright and well defined. blade is marked in Russian "Forged" with x12mf under it. This is electro-etched or painted because I can feel the lettering. decent sharp for what it is. stiff and no wobble. the spring is a coil in the pivot point. These type don't last as long as a back bone leaf spring, so I would not use this as a fidget tool constant opening and closing, even if its only $45. blade locks out by the button that deploys it. needs a solid push but easy to open and use, but pocket carry isn't advised. use of the holder or another holder this is needed as there is no button lock. the finger guard is removable. the entire knife is assembled with T7 head screws while the pivot is a T9. for the $45 I paid this is an outstanding buy. I own many $500 OTF, while this isnt like those, its $45...

I'm impressed.
I only ever had one other automatic when my state started to allow them again. Over a hundred bucks for what was obviously mirror polished stainless like so many other knives out there, and only got it for the novelty anyway. This feller? I saw it browsing around and figured I'd get one just because it looked pretty dang cool.. Long story short, I ordered one more not long after I got this one. One to use and one to save. Thing impressed me right out of the box.Not 420 stainless steel, and NOT d2 tool steel, is always a plus in my book for a knife, and I didn't know what to expect from the alphanumeric jumble of steel type, but dang folks right out of the box it's a solid shiny wicked sharp little utility.Grip is light but firm, doesn't feel slippery, and weights just right so it doesn't buck when you flip it out. I gave it the paper test right off the bat and it passed. Think I found my new veggie chopper when I'm wandering around the garden later this year lookin for a snack, and one on standby for 30 years down the road when I've shaved it down into a little nub of its' former self from sharpening lol.Opening mechanism is a recoil spring which I've never seen on a blade before. Not sure how long that'll last, hopefully a long time because I'm just instantly smitten with it. Opening and closing takes a bit of getting used to, as I'm of the stock that tries to find the release on the back end to close it. This one closes the way it opens.Definitely seems worth more than the price tag, no brainer.

Exactly what it’s supposed to be
It’s cheap, clunky, and fun, which is exactly what I thought it would be. It’s not high quality (super light cheap-feeling handle, hard to deploy, weak spring), but it’s fun.

Great Knife For The Money
Excellent Quality. Surprising that amazon is selling an automatic knife. In any case, glad they do. This is a great knife for the money. Solid construction and cool Soviet style.

Kinda cheap quality would not recommend anyone buying this cheapo knife
But we kept it anyways because boys needed a auto opening knife that didn’t cost hundreds of dollars an yet it still works it doesn’t hold an edge very well but we have lots of knife sharpening tools so we can make this work until we find better at a similar price. Thanks amazon
