Can Lehman's Froe be sharpened?

Yes, the steel blade is case hardened, which means there's a hard outer layer formed around the blade. This layer protects the inner raw (soft) steel, allowing you to sharpen the blade more before reaching the raw steel.

What does case hardened steel mean?

Case hardened steel means the blade is stronger and longer-lasting. By using a special heating process and dipping the blade into a high-carbon compound, a hard outer layer is formed around the blade. This layer protects the inner raw (soft) steel.

What size logs can the froe split?

Lehman's Froe and Mallet are designed for small logs for woodworking, making kindling, already-split lumber, and more. It is not meant to split large logs.
