This 3-step folding ladder isn't the cheapest, but it is WELL WORTH the extra money. It is light, folds easily and compactly and is very sturdy for being so light. The treads provide plenty of grip thanks to the extruded grooves and are dimensioned to accommodate a "normal" adult stance. It also looks nice with high quality fit and finish. I got the black and woodgrain (which is more orange than I would prefer, but looks real'ish enough). Lastly, there is no silly toggle lock/unlock or awkward hook like most of the cheaper folding stools have. It stays firmly open when opened and folds with extreme ease by lifting the leading edge of any tread, then a light "snap" returns it to a flat stored position. If you want a very stable, very compact ladder/stool that folds completely flat yet can be easily maneuvered with one hand- spend the extra money on THIS one.

I bought this step stool because my spouse and I are height challenged and needed more steps to reach some things around the house. Not only was the ladder attractive to look at but was surprisingly sturdy for its light weight (in pounds, I'm talking about).. That was one of my spouse's criteria, "It needs to be lite weight, and this ladder didn't disappoint. In addition, it folds up very tight and as such, is easily stowed behind the door in out utility room when not in use. If there was one thing that I'd like to see addressed, would be that the handle could be a little higher when getting down from the top step, While It is very sturdy, to be honest, most time this is not a problem as I can hold onto a door or cabinet etc., but sometimes out say in the middle of the room trying to install a ceiling fan for example, there isn't much to hang onto. It's tall enough for the first two steps easy, but that next step, requires a little taller person to have to bend over to grab onto something to ascend or descend the extra steps especially for us older folk with stiffer backs. That being said, It was still a good choice for me, and I think you would also be happy with this selection. If having something to grab onto is important to you might, you want to consider a ladder with an extra step, that might solve the problem with having to bend over while on the ladder especially when getting down from the top step.

I was looking for a step ladder that looked nice enough to leave out all the time, primarily for frequent indoor plant care (we have a lot of plants). This was more money than I wanted to spend on a step ladder, but it looks really nice and can be left out, is lightweight and easy to carry around, and feels stable and secure when climbing — especially because it has the extension/handle at the top. It really is amazing how closely they made the metal resemble wood, even when you are pretty close up to the ladder. I don’t think this is the type of step ladder that would hold up well to rough/work use, but it is good for fairly gentle, routine household use.

I like it because it's solid metal, black and wood-look, and with a slip-resistant texture on each step. And it gives you a rise of right at 27". We have some kitchen cabinets that are rather high up and I didn't like the cute-but-flimsy step stool my wife was using, as in my opinion, it was dangerous. And since it's my duty ad desire to protect my wife from such cutesy dangers, I did my research and discovered this handsome step stool. It's got nice, wide steps, and each step has a slip-resistant texture stamped into the steps. It's very light weight, yet sturdy. My wife is able to reach those high cabinets with ease, and in our very woody-looking kitchen this step stool is a good (and safe) fit.

Tall & sturdy 3 step ladder for my aging parents. The top of the ladder makes for easy carry and provides added stability as you climb the steps. The treads are a beautiful brown color & very durable. This is an attractive step ladder to keep handy inside the house if you have tall cabinets or shelves that require pretty regular access. It folds very skinny to easily tuck into a narrow space for storage. My 83yr old mother insisted the toddler step stool she was relying on was sufficient for her needs until she fell off of it one afternoon while reaching up to the shelf above the clothes inside her closet. She claims that step ladders are meant for the garage and didn't want some "ugly thing" in her house all the time. When I bought this really nice step ladder for her as a gift, she was extremely appreciative & quickly realized this was a much safer option. Now she uses it all the time! Eliminating unnecessary accidents one at a time!

Easy to open, looks nice, sturdy and not too heavy

I purchased this step ladder mainly for the color. However, I wanted something that would be sleek/slim and easy to maneuver. It folds well and I was able to hang it on my ironing board rack with the board. When I stand on the ladder it does rock a little and the steps are super thin. I don't feel that it is very sturdy and safe for heavier people. I'm 5'4" 143 lbs and I am very careful climbing using it. It just not feel sturdy enough for the price I paid for it. I have an older one I purchased from Lowe's that is too short but it is safer than this one. This one I use mainly to climb up and reach food in the kitchen cabinets and closets which I can't reach. It comes in one piece already and the legs aren't completely balanced and it rocks just a little when climbing.

Very well designed, quality construction and looks good with our futniture.
