Dislikes: One of the pieces we received was made partially upside-down. We looked at the instruction picture and we looked at the piece we received and it did not match. It was a simple fix - we unscrewed a piece and re-screwed it where it belonged. The bottom tray is a great concept, but it isn't deep at all. I would say it needs to be 3 to 4x deeper than it is. You also can't put the house on the bottom if you plan on sliding the tray out, because obviously it gets in the way. You'll have to take the house out every time you remove the tray. Likes: Gorgeous cage that resembles furniture and doesn't have that metal look to it. The instructions were clear. They gave extra screws. Its lightweight. It also has a nice top lid feature! Good value for money! If I knew about it sooner I may have even gotten it for my crested gecko! Really overall a nice cage. I will review later as well...today is the first day of owning. We will see if anything changes!

Took 2 hours to assemble on my own. Honestly it took that long because the bottom latch wouldn't line up, ide say attach this latch first before assembly so you aren't annoyed at the end. Have wire cutters handy, staples holding wire to wooden frame may not be flush, I stabbed my finger when grabbing one of the pieces and had to cut off some staples so my rat wouldn't harm himself. Not all the holes are precut but wood is very soft so wasn't an issue when drilling. The screws used for the wheels should have a wider top, the literally go through the opening on the wheels so stay close to one side that way the nails assigned make contact. Has a weird chemical smell probably from the paint on the wood, I let it air out before putting my rat in after setup. The floor levels do not screw on, they don't move about either so no worry there, makes it easy to customize which is nice. All in all seems like a good product. Shipping was ridiculously expensive.

I am having constant problems with this cage in the year I’ve had it. It’s difficult to get accessories put in place as your have the top flap and the two small doors to the side. The wire mesh isn’t great at holding things in place and nothing feels secure. I went to move it today and the wheels came off. Use your own screws for the wheels because the ones provided slipped right through the holes that attach the wheels. A piece came broken and the company did send me a replacement so there’s that. Wood is a bad idea for a rodent cage (I really didn’t look at the description thoroughly enough). It holds smells and residue and it warps over time. The levels became completely wonky after the first cleaning. The doors are harder to open and close because they swell over time from the various liquids. Update: they chewed a hole through the plastic tray and was able to slip out of the (unlatchable) flap sooooo… This didn’t even last me a year… I don’t have plans to have rats in the future, so I’m just gonna “make do” this thing instead of replace it, but girl do I wish someone would have told me to invest my money elsewhere.

You have to put it together yourself. Instructions were ok. If you can put IKEA furniture together then you will do just fine. Make sure to always insert the bottom plastic tray in the correct way or it will get stuck. Difficult to clean on one floor because there is no door to access it. The runners are held on by cheap non movable hinges with tiny screws. They break off easily and they RUST. That is totally not safe for pets. A trip to the hardware store and some DIY can remedy that. Everything else is good so far! For the price and some DIY it is well worth it.

This was fairly easy to assemble even though the directions were not great. Very cheaply made, the one I received was pretty banged up even though the box it was shipped in was intact. Some of the wire is messed up, a few spots of the pvc liner is not adhered securely, the hinges for the doors are all sorts of crooked, and there are dings and scratches all over. It is definitely not worth the money spent but once it's fully put together, who wants to mess with a return. I suppose it'll have to work for the time being but I'll need to fix a few things.

Absolutely awesome. Looks so much better than the old cage I had been using. This houses three rats and a hedgehog, who oddly enough bonded with the rats and doesn't want to be in his cage without his friends. Anyways. I love it. Originally purchased hoping the wiring would be more sturdy though, as one of the rats ...the great Master Splinter.... Likes to stand against the edge and wait for the dog to try to get him and then jumps at the wire to startle the dog, this causing the dog to shove his face into the wire. They have an elaborate dog and rat game that has lasted a year so far do I don't see it ending anytime soon. While the cage is nice and sturdy, I feel as though over time having an 80 lb dog shove his face against it will probably do some bending so keep that aspect I'm mind if you plan to purchase for similar reasons. Being as it's taller than they're use to, Master Splinter, Casey Jones and April O'neal (the rats) and Sonic (obviously the hedgehog) are all in heaven and absolutely love their new home. Especially the hideaway that came with it. Overall I would definitely purchase again.

I was a tad hesitant on buying this because we just bought a Syrian hamster. We bought a generic hamster cage but it seemed way to small. I spent 3 days trying to find one online that was big and with in budget. This one stuck out because it has FIVE floors!!! It's skinny and tall and has 2 openings. Our hammy is in love with the home this set brings. Hairy Larry the hamster spent all night last night putting the bedding inside of the home to get all snuggled up. It's actually really decent in size. The picture shown here is right after we assembled it so we're going to do much more work on each floor. I put 3 stars for sturdiness... It's sturdy for a hamster 100% but not for a human. Not like a sturdy chair or anything. I think because each of the wooden pieces are semi thin. It's perfect for us because we're not going to move the cage much unless we need to clean underneath it. GREAT buy. Easy for the kids to open it so they can play with him more than asking me all the time to open their old cage. Also has a lock hole in case someone needs to lock it but ours is lock free.

We moved my ferrets into the animal hospital I work at as lobby pets. I wanted something that didn't look petstore like that could blend in. When it shipped first impressions were not the best, the entire box was beat up and ripped (granted, could complain to the shipment for that), as soon as I saw the box it came in I had very low expectations. As soon as I opened it, the wood smell stunk up the whole kennel area of the hospital. I had a CSR put it together. The entire thing needed to be screwed together which was a lengthy process. I disinfected the entire thing and ended up completely ignoring the wood bowl and toy because of the stench. After having it air out, the smell cooled down. Could use new layer of paint, the cage itself is basic chicken wire, I probably could of made it myself for cheaper. It came in… eh condition? Chips here and there, bent and broken wire, granted, the shipping wasn’t great. I have two ferrets, and I read reviews saying that it’s not for ferrets (even tho advertised) but I still wanted to give it a try, I had a wee speck of hope. To say the least, it was way too tiny. My ferrets have always been free roaming, never had a crazy cage like this. So I knew this would be a hit or miss if they’d like it. It was too cramped for them to really enjoy it. And when they did decide to sleep on a higher level 80% of the time they ended up falling off because of the lack of room. They barely used the stairs and because the cage was so small they could easily just hop up to the next level. There was no room anywhere in the cage to put anything. The cage came with a little hidey home that doesn’t even fit in the cage to begin with (my guinea pig is enjoying it now, so thanks!) Ferrets are messy, like to knock over water bowls and rummage through their food bowls so the lower level is where that has to go (at least for my boys), and that’s where the liter box is going to go, so they ended up eating and drinking right next to where they were going potty. Not to mention, they started hate climbing around, idk if it’s because they were free roaming and just were not used to it, or if it’s because they kept falling, but they decided to now only sleep or really go on the lower level, all smushed together with their stuff. Idk what the return policy is on this. I’m honestly not surprised if I’m out of luck of getting my money back. The stuff has already been used. I’d appreciate it, but it’s whatever. This cage is not meant for ferrets, idk honestly what animal would really thrive in this. It’s just super super skinny. And just feels small for every animal. Disappointed but not surprised. Could be a great cage if it was just waaaay bigger, focused less on height. Listen to the reviews!
