bru Travel - Insulated Coffee Cup Travel Mug for Hot Drinks, Leakproof, Ceramic Lined (12 oz, Black Magic)

A damn near perfect travel mug that is a pleasure to drink from. I've mainly used it to drink both hot and iced coffee and it checks all the boxes for me. Keeps hot drinks warm for a long time as long as the lid is closed and iced drinks stay cold for even longer. Pros: -Cool 360 degree drinking design with an easy to disassemble lid. -Simple and sleek appearance. -Ceramic lining to preserve flavor. However, I bought the black color and you can see the tiniest sliver of the white ceramic peeking through when the lid is screwed on tight which may annoy those into the aesthetic aspect of this. -Comfortable 16oz size that is easy to grip with a sleek matte surface that resists fingerprints. -Rubberized bottom surface. -Effectively spill-proof when upright while the lid is popped open. Due to the lid's mechanical design that uses a plunger in the center to allow liquid through, there is an incredibly low likelihood of any spills while driving on rough roads unless you go past the max fill line. -Leak-proof while closed with one tiny caveat which I'll elaborate in the cons section. Potential cons: -The cup portion is not dishwasher safe. However, for a product this expensive I'd rather opt for a hand-wash instead. -The lid disassembles into 3 parts which may be a chore to clean if you drink anything with pulp or sediment in it. More parts also means more potential points of failure/damage. However, these parts are supposedly dishwasher safe and feel very sturdy. Again, I will be opting to hand-wash these parts. -Surprisingly loud clicks when opening and closing the lid. Think along the lines of popping an unsealed Snapple lid, a bit louder than that. Could be annoying when trying to keep your drink warm in quieter environments like offices. You could work around this by partially pressing in the lid to drink from it, however, the lid has some good resistance to it in order to be leak-proof and I can see this being too annoying for some people. -My main gripe with this cup which is still pretty minor is that if you close the lid too soon after a drink, some of the liquid can get trapped in the lid portion. This makes it so that if you turn the cup past 90 degrees it will likely dribble a tiny amount of liquid. This can be avoided as long as you let the liquid from the lid settle back into the cup while it's open. This is also why you don't want to go past the marked fill line as the plunger to open the lid will simply submerge into the liquid and suck it upwards. Just something to consider if you plan on tossing this inside a bag with other items. However, outside of this very specific circumstance the cup is indeed leak-proof in most practical situations. Despite the relatively minor issues I mentioned I still think this product deserves 5 stars as it hits the right balance of functionality and durability while also feeling very premium.

Great product. Been juggling between this, the Fellow Carter wide, and Sttoke. Pros: 1. Ceramic lined cup from lip to lip is amazing. Coffee and tea tastes amazing with it. Great for those who have an extreme sensitivity to that metallic taste you get from stainless steel cups. 2. Lid design is so cool and easy to drink from. 3. Truly leakproof. I shook it around fairly hard and nothing. I’m short from just throwing it into the wall to see if anything will drip out. Honestly not sure why people are getting complaints about the seal leaking but I just used it for a couple of days so far and it works great. 4. Cup shape lets me securely grip it in my hands 5. Price is very appealing considering what this offers. Cons: 1. Button is loud. Like deafening loud. If you’re in an office, people know you’re having a sip 2. Cup is potentially slippery but I haven’t had an incident of it slipping out of my hands yet. 3. Not so much of a big deal but wish white was available. Compared to Fellow: I definitely hate feeling the stainless steel against my mouth when drinking coffee, but nothing beats Fellow in regards to how long it can keep the temperature throughout the day. However it’s so much easier to clean the Bru. The lid is also easy to disassemble for those days I might get neurotic about deep cleaning. Compared to Sttoke: The Sttoke is easier to hold in my opinion. I do prefer the parabolic bottom on the Sttoke for easy swirling and is optimally easiest to clean with compared to the Bru (but not by much). Still, the lid on the Bru is hard to beat and that is enough for me to switch away from Sttoke for me.

I really like this travel mug. it has a nice, sophisticated feel to it. i like the color and it's comfortable in my hand. it feels well made and it's not too heavy. drinks tend to stay adequately warm when you leave the lid closed. the lid design is complex and tbh the reason I was hesitant to buy this cup in the first place. the first couple times reassembling the lid after washing it have been a little tricky. if it leaks you probably don't have it screwed together completely. there are good instructions and helpful tips so that part isn't so bad. but the bottom piece of the lid assembly is VERY difficult to clean. it seems to be spring loaded and stuff collects on the inner shaft (?). the only way to get to it is to hold the piece open, fighting the tension of the spring inside it. and then, that center shaft piece will spin around so it's hard to keep that still to try to get a tiny brush in it to clean off any residuals. as far as I can tell there is no other way to clean it. i can see it getting gross pretty quickly. otherwise I like it a lot. sorry for the blurry photo, hope you can tell what I mean about the lid.

This is my new favorite to-go coffee mug. I've owned a variety of mugs, from the horrible MiiR, to the amazing Fellow. But I was looking for a mug that had the same compact size, with the ceramic inside as the Fellow, but an easier to clean lid system like the MiiR. Enter Bru... This was literally the only mug on the market I could find (and I searched high and low) that checked all the boxes. Ceramic inner; on the go quick sip lid, yet seals for a drip free/leak proof experience; and easy to disassemble and clean lid. Compared to the Fellow Carter, this lid is far easier to dissasemble and clean. The Fellow is great, but the slide lid is so hard to remove, clean, and reassemble. The 360 sip lid is also so fun and easy to use, along with the push to engage/disengage lid. Not to mention it keeps liquids hot for a long time. This is also the only fully leak proof mug I've found with a quick, on the go sipping lid.

This travel cup is absolutely perfect. It’s a perfect fit in car cup holders and the side pocket of my backpack. It’s also completely leakproof. I filled it with water when it first came in and shook it every which way, not a single leak. I’ve used it daily, tossing it into the side of my backpack and have not had an issue. Finally, the design is the best I’ve been able to find. I was considering a Simple Modern cup but then I saw the Bru I’d that comes apart to clean and I am so glad I found it! I deep clean it every other day and I’m grateful I found this design because I can only imagine how gross the other brands get. It’s a great price, keeps my coffee warm for a solid 2 hours, and I am honestly just so happy with this purchase.

Before to make a purchase for my go to coffee mug I made a small research what will be the best choice for me. Based on that I made a final decision with BRU. And.. It didn't reach my expectations. No matter how hard I tried to close the lid after opening it was useless, it stuck and never came back to previous position. I believe the mechanism is not perfect. It's very difficult for itself to find a correct position inside of plastic "gear" suppressed by spring that can match perfectly when it's tightly closed, so cup can work systematically easier on pop-up without issues. Yeah, that cup has ceramic inner bottom and lid can be taken on apart for washing but what about main purpose?

UPDATE: The company reached out to me and apologized for this unfortunate situation. They asked if they could send me a new cup FREE OF CHARGE! I said YES of course! They added an extra lid as well. I am truly grateful for them and I will say, that I’ve had NO issues with my new cup/lid!! I LOVE IT!!! Thank you again so much! 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😍 ☕️ I really wanted to love this cup! But unfortunately this is a replacement cup. My first one, fell apart when I hand washed it. The entire lid can apart and you need it to be able to push the button open and close it. So, they want me this replacement cup and now this lid is defective as well. So, I will be sending this one back and getting a refund. By the way, I’ve o my had this new cup for a few days and the second usage, it came apart. I’m choosing to give it 2 stars, bc it is a lovely cup, it just keeps falling apart!

I have a ton of different cups and water bottles but I was looking for something different. I had a friend showcase his coffee tumbler that was ceramic lined. I never heard of that but from what he was telling me, it helps keep the taste from taking on a plastic or metallic flavor. So my interest was piqued. After looking up several, BRU had 3 characteristics that i really liked: 1. The ceramic lining 2. the 360 degree drinking. It's a great feature, especially when you are driving and have to keep looking down to make sure you are drinking in the right place. 3. the complete seal. I'll be honest, I saw the video and pics of this cup where they throw it in a backpack and was skeptical. How could it have such a strong seal without twisting it hard? I have been surprised by this feature, It works great and you only have to press down. I really do love this cup. My only problem is that I get confused when it is sealed because you would think that when it is down that would mean it is sealed. But BRU designed their cups to seal when it is up. 5 stars

Does not keep warm as described in advertising

Wir sind begeistert, auch außen wird er nicht warm, die Wärme bleibt im Becher, Spülmaschine hat er auch einwandfrei gemeistert. Schließt dicht und man kann gut trinken, der Kaffee schmeckt. Es lohnt hier etwas mehr auszugeben. Alles andere wird die Zeit zeigen.

I have gripes with most of these insulated bottles ... They either leak when they are supposed to be leak-proof, the lid is annoying, they don't insulate properly, they taste metallic or don't fit in my cupholder... This one has none of those issues. - It doesn't leak AT ALL; it's remarkable actually considering the lid design ... I can drink from any angle and then close it by pressing it down and voila, no leakage whatsoever. - The lid is somewhat annoying to clean in that it needs disassembling but cleaning itself is easy, and the lid dishwasher proof (although the cup is not; the inside is delicate and you can't use metal utensils with it either) - It insulates perfectly as long as you remember to close the lid; I've had drinks in here for a few hours and they remained hot (above a temperature where you can down it). - Metallic taste? Not here - ceramic interior means it tastes just like it's coming out of a mug It's surprisingly pleasant and a bit of a shock to the senses; after trying so many travel mugs, with them all having a taste impact, you brace yourself for one and it's weird to just taste actual coffee/tea the way it's meant to be despite having been sat in a cup for 2 hours. - This definitely fits my cupholder! I don't know how regular the size of mine is, but it's a fairly new Mercedes A Class if that helps anybody. So all the usual cons are ticked off, are there any cons? Well, the inside is ceramic, so although it's marketed as "shatter-proof" I'm not sure if that means you can safely drop it. With that said, the all-steel insulated ones become useless once they are dented from a drop, so I guess that's a con they all would share. To clarify, I have not tested dropping this one. I actually really like it and want to keep using it, and I paid for it so I won't be putting it through those kinds of paces!
