Working great now but several problems to solve getting there.
Giving it 5 stars despite some problems along the way.Happy now but several days of problems to solve.Extremely heavy/bulky 45 pounds. Get help moving it around.WAIT 24 HOURS AFTER SETTING IT UP so the condenser can settle. First instruction in the set up guide but most bad reviews skipped that step.Popped the circuit twice. Moved it to a circuit with little on it. Trial and error.Would not stay in one place. Unit has permanent wheels with no way to lock them down. I bought furniture/bed wheel stoppers, which solved the problem.I got water everywhere trying to empty the tank. I tried different solutions and ended up getting a one gallon pitcher with a lock top, giving me a large 5 inch by 7 inch opening. Not a problem if you use a hose to direct to drain or garden, but I needed it in the living room.I was going to toss the water but found it was nearly pure so I am now putting it directly into my reverse osmosis / UV filter. Solves having to cart it to the sink. I got the idea from another reviewer that says he just puts the water in the refrigerator. You can also water your plants with it.The tank holds 1.8 gallons, which I end up dumping at least twice a day with my 90F temperature and 65% humidity.Set it to AUTO 30% humidity. Currently at 40% humidity... far better than the original 65% humidity.I set it on AUTO during the day and low at night.Love the auto shutoff when full, although I wish it would stop and inch from the top. No way to get the tank drawer out when completely full without splashing.LOVE THE GOVEE APP where I can control everything and clearly see hour/day/week/month of temperature and humidity.Notice temperature goes up as the humidity goes down. Also, when it auto shuts off (water tank full), the humidity immediately starts going up a bit.Highly recommended but be aware that you are basically adding a mini-fridge to your house. My electric bill went from $100/month to $165/month, which is understandable. 700-850 watts is going to take a toll on anyone's electric bill. Still worth it.

Finicky Install
Great machine so far, finicky install. The humidity in my 1500 sqft co do was approaching 80% with temps in the upper 80s and dewpoints in the 70s consistently. My central air was obviously not able to keep up so i employed this machines services to help.My advice is to not do what I did on on install. Since my house was in such desperate need and I live alone, I flipped the package upside down to take the packaging out of the box. I then had to flip it again to get it right side up. Probably my first mistake.I then immediately took it to the basement, connected the hose (adapter is inside the collection bucket), plugged it in and turned it on. Horrible clanking noise that sounded like the fan hitting something metal inside. After a period of confusion and experiments, I propped up the two wheels in the back and the noise was gone and has remained gone. After the machine was up and running, the directions clearly state to sit the machine right side up for 24 hours prior to plugging in. So this is my error. This machine cleared out my house and is reporting down to 40% humidity in about 48 hours. It actually got too dry so I told it to mellow out a bit.Which is really nice, its integrated with the govee app so if you already have govee lights, this thing is right at home in that same app you already have.

Great unit never any issues
It’s been one year and no issues. It gives you the humidity stats along the temperature along with a chart that goes weekly and monthly and yes, this is all through the Wi-Fi app. Super happy with it. I have a hose connected to it and yes, I had to put it on a tote since the water flow is going into a toilet, which could be higher than the unit itself so everyone knows about water flow. You always have to be higher than the water level it’s going into Super love it.

Short drain hose but worth the money!
I bought the GoveeLife Dehumidifier for my unfinished basement in an older home, and I’m really impressed with its performance so far. I followed the manual’s instructions to let it sit upright for 24 hours before use, and setup was straightforward. In just about 4 hours, it brought the humidity level down from 63% to a steady 41-49% (I set it to 45%), which is fantastic for my space. One standout feature is the app—it’s super convenient! It lets you control the humidity level, fan speed, and power from your phone, and even sends alerts when the drain bucket needs to be emptied if you’re not using the hose. The app also has graphs showing the unit’s performance, which I found really helpful and cool to track. If you plan to use the included hose for continuous draining, note that it’s quite short. My drain wasn’t close enough, so I had to buy a longer garden hose to make it work. That said, I love that when the hose is attached, it only drains through the hose and not into the bucket—perfect for uninterrupted operation.Overall, this unit is excellent for the price. It’s efficient, the app adds great functionality, and it’s doing wonders for my basement. The only minor downside is the short hose, but that’s an easy fix. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable dehumidifier!Would have given it a 5 star but they need to give a long hose with the unit.

Reliable operation with a nice app for wireless.
So far this unit has been great. I replaced a different unit with this Govee. I like its features.First, the wireless connectivity is really nice. You can do adjustment or check status without having to go down to the basement. Very convenient. Also, I found settings for the device in the app you can’t do from the control panel on the unit.I like the 5% range setting. My last unit seemed to turn on and off constantly. Plus, this unit’s humidity reading seems real close to my separate humidistat reading. My last unit was never in synch with my room humidistat.Overall, I’m very pleased with the first season of operation. I did purchase the insurance because my last two units died after only 18 months. Hope this one lasts 4 years
