Reliable, Powerful, and Still Going Strong After Two Years!
I bought the GoveeLife Dehumidifier a little over two years ago, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. From day one, this unit has run almost non-stop — 24 hours a day, seven days a week — and it’s still performing just as well as it did when I first plugged it in. That kind of reliability is hard to come by these days. Living in the Deep South, humidity is a constant battle. Without this dehumidifier, the humidity level in my home would easily stay between 65–70%. With it running, it consistently holds around 45%, which makes a huge difference in comfort and air quality. The collection bucket fills up twice a day — roughly two gallons every twelve hours — which tells me it’s pulling a lot of moisture out of the air and doing exactly what it’s designed to do. Some people mention the noise level, but let’s be honest — it’s a blower motor, so a little sound is expected. In my opinion, it’s actually quieter than many others I’ve tried, and for the amount of work it’s doing, it’s really not that noisy at all. I can easily run it day and night without it being a distraction. Another nice feature is the GoveeLife app. The phone connectivity is a great bonus, allowing me to check humidity levels and even get notified when the bucket needs to be emptied. It’s simple to set up and very convenient. Overall, this has been an outstanding purchase. It’s durable, effective, and dependable — everything you want in a dehumidifier. After two years of continuous operation, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. If you live in a humid area and need something you can count on, this is the one to get.

Love it. Saves us money and wear and tear on the AC.
This arrived in perfect condition and quickly. I unboxed it and left it in an upright position for 24 hours BEFORE plugging it in to prevent compressor damage and extend the service life of the unit, as you should do with any product that has a compressor, to allow the oil to resettle back into the compressor from the lines due to movement during transit. It connected quickly to my Android smartphone via their app, available for free from the Play Store and integrated seamlessly with my Alexa ecosystem, which is robust to say the least. Easily turned on, off, raised and lowered the fan speed via voice, which is primarily what drove me to purchase this product. As a bonus, I had a small Govee remote sensor for temperature and humidity that paired with the unit to provide remote sensing capabilities, which was very handy when trying to keep a large space properly dehumidified. The app is easy to use and customer service is handled through the app, which is VERY nice and super convenient. I thought I had an issue with the compressor not turning on and off but via messaging through the chat in the app, they were able to see the log of the machine's components and determine it was my misunderstanding of how the Auto function worked. The unit itself works well to remove excess humidity from our home. With the unit on high and the relative humidity being 60%, it fills the tank in around 10 hours, making our home feel more comfortable at 74F and 52% RH than at 72F and 60% RH. It does emit heat though, as is the case with any dehumidifier, so mitigating that is simply a case of having the fan on our central AC unit come on for 15 minutes every hour to help move the dehumidified air and warmer air out of the room. We keep the unit in the living room, our largest room in our 1700 sqft. living space and it definitely helps keep the entire space more comfortable, again using the central air fan only function to move air around the entire space. The water tank is one of the largest I could find at 2 gallons. I didn't want to hang a hose out of the window to automatically drain the unit, but I did try out the auto drain function and it does work really well to pump the water out without the use of the integrated water tank, a nice feature for sure, especially if you have a floor drain or put the unit in close proximity of the window. The unit is easy to maintain - a washable filter screen on the back of the unit makes keeping the coils clean and the unit in top working condition a breeze. We are very happy with this purchase. We've had it up and running for about a month now and have already noticed shorter run times on the central AC due to not needing to crank the temperature down to get the 'stickiness' out of the air. We live in the 'deep south' on the coast and high humidity is just a way of life. This helps the house feel much more comfortable and that's important to us.

Game-Changer for My Damp Basement – Smart, Powerful, and Surprisingly Quiet!
I’ve been battling humidity in my 2,500 sq ft home (mostly the basement and garage) for years, especially during those muggy Midwest summers. Musty smells, condensation on windows, and that constant clammy feeling? It was driving me nuts. I finally pulled the trigger on the GoveeLife Smart Dehumidifier after reading about its massive coverage area and app integration. Spoiler: It’s been a total win, pulling moisture like a champ without breaking the bank on energy. The Good Stuff: • Beast-Mode Dehumidification: Rated for up to 4,500 sq ft, this thing handles my space effortlessly. In auto mode, it drops humidity from 75% to a comfy 45% in under an hour during peak humid days. The variable capacity (50 pints at cooler temps up to 137 pints in sweltering 90°F/90% RH conditions) means it adapts without overworking. No more mold worries – my basement smells fresh for the first time in forever. • Smart Features That Actually Matter: The Govee app is a dream – real-time humidity monitoring, remote on/off, and customizable targets (I set it to 50% for comfort without drying out the air). Voice control with Alexa or Google Home? Seamless. Plus, the auto-defrost keeps it running smoothly even in cooler spots like my garage. • Easy Setup and Low Maintenance: The 2-gallon bucket is huge (lasts 2-3 days on high), and emptying it is a breeze with the handle and splash guard. I hooked up the included drain hose to a floor drain for hands-free operation – no more midnight bucket dumps. Auto shut-off when full is a lifesaver, and the washable filter is simple to clean monthly. • Quiet and Efficient: At under 50dB on low, it’s quieter than my old unit – like a soft fan hum, not a jet engine. Energy Star certified, so my electric bill barely budged (around 600W max draw). The Not-So-Good Stuff: • It’s a bit bulky (about 40 lbs), so maneuvering it into tight spots requires two people. Not ideal for super small rooms. • In extreme humidity, the bucket might need more frequent checks if you’re not using the hose, and it emits a gentle warmth from the exhaust (totally normal, but noticeable in a small enclosed space). • The app occasionally lags if your Wi-Fi is spotty, but a quick restart fixes it. Overall, this dehumidifier has made my home feel livable again – no more sticky sheets or allergy flare-ups. If you’re dealing with a large, humid space, it’s worth every penny. Highly recommend for basements, garages, or open floor plans. Just pair it with the hose, and you’re golden!

Fantastic Smart Dehumidifier with one minor flaw
Short version: Great appliance, highly efficient, easy integration with the Govee app, extensive amount of control through app, high capacity 2 gal tank that’s easy to empty or connect to garden hose or use provided adapter to use drain tube provided (or go to Lowes/Home Depot to get longer tube and avoid ugly garden hose in the house), not overly loud - can’t tell it’s on when the A/C is running, makes it far more comfortable and takes strain off the A/C during extreme temps & high humidity. Long Version: Originally fell in love with Govee LED lights and grew to trust the brand more over the years through various warranty replacements and honestly outstanding customer service through any issue/concern. I’ll admit, I was semi skeptical when they began venturing into various home appliances. The app is great and works flawlessly with every Govee product I own (Many lights, Hygrometer/Thermometers, Space Heater and now Dehumidifer). The dehumidifier is extremely efficient, I can track my energy usage through my smart meter and it typically pulls about 800-850 watts on high and roughly 780 watts with fan on low. For comparison - my central air pulls 2,400 watts. I love the ability to pair any of my Hygrometers to control the humidity in any one particular area and set it to maintain whatever set point you select within the app. Also, when paired with a Hygrometer and connected to WiFi, you have more visibility/control into your environment remotely in the app, as it allows you to check the humidity/temp from anywhere instead of only within Bluetooth range. On high, it removes a LOT of moisture relatively quickly. I live in a 1,200 sqft apartment and leave it by my master bath which pumps out the most humidity from my scalding showers lol. Within about 30-45mins, the humidity drops from 82% to 50% and provides peace of mind knowing it’s preventing mold in poorly ventilated areas. It’s a great assistance to the A/C during extremely hot & humid days as well, and prevented my coils from freezing up during a recent severe heatwave. Also, to be able to open the windows on cooler, but humid nights/days and run the dehumidifier instead of the A/C, using a fraction of the energy is very nice and provides a bit of versatility as an alternative to “overcooling” to dehimidify. My one complaint and only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the way the “maintain” feature works when you want to maintain a particular threshold instead of running it 24/7. As the humidity gets closer to the desired set point, the unit decreases the fan speed to low once it’s about 3% away from its target. From a logical prospective, the fan is the cheapest component of the unit to operate as the condenser is not variable and therefore either on 100% or off. Once the fan speed decreases, it takes notably longer to reach the target set point vs allowing it to run on high continuously until the target is reached, which ultimately decreases the overall efficiency. If Govee updated the firmware to “maintain” the threshold by running the fan on high continuously until the target is reached, I would immediately update this to 5 stars. Aside from that, I have zero complaints and plan to purchase another unit for my parents if the price is right on Prime Day.

Works quickly
I live in a high humidity environment, and have the dual issue of not a lot of space. I really enjoy how this dehumidifier has a tank with a large handle which makes it easy so I could take it out to dump the liquid in my shower. Also, the Govee app controls are very useful and I hardly ever need to touch the device. I really love how quickly it works to lower the humidity in the room. If I had one con, the quiet mode is not that much more quiet than the default but really it acts as white noise in the room.

My Basement’s New Best Friend – Keeps the Dungeons Dry and the Monsters at Bay!
★★★★★ Are you tired of your basement feeling like a damp dungeon straight out of a medieval horror movie? Do you find yourself wondering if creatures of the deep are lurking in the shadows? Fear not, for the GoveeLife Smart Dehumidifier has arrived to save the day (and your sanity)! First of all, let’s talk size. This dehumidifier is a beast – but in a good way! Covering up to 4,500 square feet, it’s like having a tiny superhero stationed in your basement, constantly battling humidity villains. It’s so efficient that I half expect it to don a cape and start calling itself “Captain Dry.” The auto humidity control is a game-changer. No more guessing games or fiddling with settings – this dehumidifier is smarter than my high school science teacher. It knows exactly what your basement needs and adjusts itself accordingly. I swear, it’s like it’s reading my mind (or at least my moisture levels). The drain hose and 2.0-gallon bucket are a match made in heaven. Whether you’re a hose person or a bucket enthusiast, this dehumidifier has got you covered. Personally, I’ve never been so excited to watch water drain away. It’s like a weirdly satisfying magic trick every time. And the WiFi feature? Absolute genius. I can now control my dehumidifier from my phone while lounging on the couch, sipping a margarita, and pretending I’m not a grown adult obsessed with humidity levels. It’s the pinnacle of modern convenience. Energy Star Most Efficient? More like “Energy Star Most Awesome.” This thing works tirelessly, day and night, without making a dent in my electric bill. I’m convinced it runs on good vibes and determination. In conclusion, the GoveeLife Smart Dehumidifier is not just a device – it’s a basement’s best friend. It’s reliable, efficient, and surprisingly entertaining. If your basement needs a hero, look no further. Five stars and a standing ovation from me and my now-dry basement!

Happy with my purchase
I have used this dehumidifier for about two weeks and it is working great. I did a lot of research before my purchase and found this to have a good bucket capacity. To begin I had to empty it everyday while the humidity got regulated. Now I empty is about every 36 hours or so ( morning one day, evening the next). The bin is easy to empty and slides in and out easily. I chose to have the bin fill up and empty it although it can be set up with a drain hose. I always want to make sure it is working properly so by emptying it myself I can make sure it is working efficiently. I do not use the app so I can’t say how helpful that feature is. As of now, I am very happy with my purchase.

Excellent Dehumidifier!
7/17/25 UPDATE: My first unit failed after exactly one year, just like many other that I have purchased. Govee was fast to send me a warranty replacement. The warranty replacement also failed almost exactly one year later! Govee send me yet another replacement. For this outstanding customer service, I highly recommend this company. Hopefully my new unit doesn't fail. I've been through four dehumidifiers for my basement so far. First purchase was an off brand. It worked great but unfortunately would never auto-off. I returned and went with a higher quality Fridegare dehumidifier. It worked great for exactly a year then was defective. I replaced with another under warranty and exactly the same issue a year later. I decided to go with a refurbished Hisense. This works well but won't keep an accurate humidity reading and would run more often than not. Here comes the Govee. I hooked it up to my WIFI and was able to easily set my humidity level. I can even link with my other Govee humidity readers for more consistent readings. Running great so far and only about 50% less than my other one while keeping my humidity at a decent level. For my basement I keep at 55.

Huge Difference in Basement Humidity – Worth It!
I bought this GoveeLife dehumidifier for my basement and I’m honestly impressed. Within a couple of days, the condensation on my windows completely disappeared and the air feels noticeably fresher, It turns on and off automatically to maintain the humidity level, which is normal and helps save energy. It’s not too loud, and the tank is easy to empty. I also like that I can monitor and control it from my phone. If you’re dealing with dampness or mold concerns, especially in a basement, this makes a big difference. Definitely recommend.

Amazing customer service!
The first unit I received didn’t turn on. I thought it must be something I’m doing wrong, so I reached out to goveelife support. They gave me few troubleshoot instructions. None of them worked. Without asking any other questions THEY SENT ANOTHER ONE! Which came in 3-4 days. I don’t normally post too many reviews for things but this customer service stood out to me. If you are considering getting it, do it. Now as for the product itself, I only used it for two days. But it seems to work amazing. I emptied out buckets of water already from my house which I didn’t really think would happen except for the basement or maybe the bathroom. But this pulled plenty water from the rooms and everything. So far this product is amazing. Not sure what the lifecycle of this would be but from their customer service I’m hopeful that if there are any problems they would help me fix it. One thing I must mention is, this unit is not quiet, it’s also quite heavy. Both negligible to me as I don’t plan on using this daily. Couple times a week maybe. I got the MAX version. If you are considering it, just get it. I fear mold and I can confidently say now that stress has reduced

Looks like good quality product at competitive price
I purchased 2 units. They came very well packed. A hose was included, so the water can be drained direct in the drain. It's doing a good job so far. I would buy the same again.
