Song' E Napule San Marzano DOP Authentic Whole Peeled Plum Tomatoes, 28 Ounce (Pack of 6)

I enjoy making my own pasta sauces using my own recipes and spice/herb blend. While visiting a friend for dinner she had made her superb meatballs and spaghetti. I was especially impressed with her sauce. I asked her if she used a particular brand of tomatoes. She shared her “secret” and showed me “Song’E Napule” brand of DOP certified San Marzano whole peeled canned tomatoes. She sourced them from her local Italian deli/grocer. She was kind enough to gift a 28 oz can to me. I made my sauce the next weekend and it was my best pasta sauce ever. It’s a long drive for me to the nearest Italian grocer so I searched Amazon and found this exact brand and at a good price. All the reviews praised the flavor and that these toms are genuine DOP certified San Marzano. A couple of reviews complained about dented cans. My six pack arrived double boxed with the producer’s box inside of the Amazon box. And what really impressed me is that both 3 packs of cans were also bubble wrapped. No dented cans possible with this level of packaging care.

Let’s get real: you already know what this is. This isn’t just a can of tomatoes. This is The Can. A red gold medal in the Olympics of Neapolitan pizza ingredients. If tomatoes had a VIP lounge, these San Marzanos would be sipping prosecco and throwing shade at grocery store Roma tomatoes. These are sweet, rich, and balanced , like your Nonna’s judgment, but with less yelling. The texture? Smooth. The color? Chef’s kiss. Salt? Barely there. Value? You bet. And no, Amazon isn’t paying me, but I’m doing my part because these glorious canned wonders deserve the spotlight. Buy them. Cook with them. Impress your friends. Or just eat them with a spoon at 2am like I did once. No judgment.

These are sweet and in good shape … simply the best of these sorts of tomatoes I have tried. My little girl and my ball and chain … ok baby mama … ok my partner enjoyed the sauce I created with these and a couple other good ingredients

These are excellent San Marzano tomatoes. I have ordered twice. Unfortunately, in my second order, three of the cans were dented, two of which were severely damaged and must be discarded. I am not sure if it happened in transit because the tomatoes are well packaged with a box within a box and the cans bubble wrapped.

This is the best canned San Marzano I found. Just tomatoes and sauce. Nothing else. No basil, no salt. Perfect! I love the size of one can. Enough for one batch of bolognese sauce with 1 lb of ground meat. Anyway, highly recommend!
