Glass Duty Cabinet Lock Hinged Glass Display Cabinets

Lock works fine once it's installed, but installing it can be a hassle. I have an Ikea Detolf displayed case that I needed to lock. If you mount it to the top, there should be enough clearance to just screw in the plate to the wood, and then put the lock on the glass. In order for the bolt to fully extend however, you will need to drill into the wood. Not hard, but tedious.What is hard is if you want to put the lock on the bottom of the glass. You will need to file, chisel, or drill a notch to put the plate into the wood because there isn't enough clearance to just screw the plate down. Just like the top, you will also need to drill a slot for the bolt to fully extend into the wood.Also, you need counter sunk screws which don't come with the lock. Easy to find at a hardware store, but would be nice if they came with the lock.

Ordered this lock for an IKEA display cabinet that my husband used for his memorabilia items and it is perfect.

I’m giving it four stars because it’s not a secure lock, but the point of this is to just keep people for opening my display cabinet without assistance. I have a ikea detof cabinet and I used this at the top and didn’t bother drilling in for the lock to penitrate the wood which would obviously strengthen the lock, but again, this is just to keep people from opening without assistance. Overall this is solid product for the functionality and price point.

The lock fits well and serves its purpose. Would have given it five stars if it would have had the mounting screws for the latch plate. The bolt has sufficient length to hold tight when pulled on or when the case is rocked. Let’s face it, this is only a deterrent to someone taking your collectibles. If they really want them all they have to do is take the screws out of the top of the IKEA DETOLF display case.

The only thing I can say bad about these is that I could not get them keyed alike

I got this to keep my 2 and a 1/2 year old From getting to my Jurassic Park figurine collection. Easy to install I had to drill a little bit for the Locking latch. Just what I was looking for.

This is an add on item for a glass cabinet purchased here. The lock works but you need to rig it to work with the cabinet and even then it's not great. Therefore, it doesn't work for my use. I am looking for a better lock.

Easy to install and it is shiny, came with 2 little keys. I install it on my Detolf ikea glass cabinet.
