Braun HC5010 Hair Clipper, Men's Hair Clipper with 9 Settings, 2 Pin Bathroom Plug

I don't normally write reviews but during lock down my hair was growing too long. I tried using the trimming tool on my razor but this didn't do the job. I didn't want a trimmer with many attachments and I wanted a brand name that was respected, although this product was was manufactured in China. We recently had a replacement TV remote from China made of cheap, brittle plastic that smelt of chemicals (it was sent straight back). When my trimmer arrived it was soundly constructed, worked quietly and was easy to handle. The slider allows you to set the cutting size. The slider slips off smoothly and it opens easily to clean the cutting blade. It also collected my hair in the slider which was easily brushed out after each trimming action so that there wasn't a lot of loose hair on the floor. I was able to cut my hair successfully. If you need a reliable trimmer during these strange times, then this is the one. I'm unlikely to ever need to go to the hairdresser again, the trimmer works so well I am happy to keep using it from now on.

Good and easy to use

I bought this clippers when going on holiday for 2 weeks. I used it 3 times whilst on holiday and it done a great job and performed better than expected for what I paid. So I shave me head usually twice a week at home with an electric clippers and bought this to keep my hair short whilst away. It doesn't cut as short as my plug in clippers and it takes an extra pass to get all the hair but overall it done a great job and I used it 3 times for my full head and beard trim and the battery is still going strong. Comfortable to hold and use overall. I would recommend to use the oil provided to for a smoother cut. The only downside if there is one, is that it takes a while to charge but on the plus side that battery lasts a long time.

This is the first time I have purchased hair clippers and have no experience of cutting my own hair or my wife doing it for that matter, but like a lot of us at the moment, needs must! The instructions are short and more about the mechanics than the technique. So what we did was watch a few clips (pardon the pun!) on YouTube, a couple of the unboxing of this model and a few on actual haircutting using clippers. That process didn’t take long and left me feeling more confident that I wasn’t in for a scalping! The instructions say you have to charge it for four hours but when I plugged it in, I got a solid green light which is supposed to mean it is fully charged, a flashing green light is to indicate charging. The charger did seem full when we used it, but when placing it back on charge at the end, I got a solid green light again. Not sure what is going on there but hey-ho we effectively cut my hair three times at ever-decreasing gauges, just to err on the safe side, the battery did not falter. It does say that you have a 50 minute trimming time. You can choose to use the clippers corded as well as cordless. I chose these specific clippers as I was uncertain about the ones with interchangeable combs, I felt these might confuse matters. The striking blue comb is already attached but can be pulled off for cleaning. There is a slider on the top of the clippers, above the on/off button, that slides the comb to its various lengths, 3-24mm in increments of 3mm. There appears to be the optional extra longer clipper comb for 14-35mm cuts available to purchase. As I say, we took the cautious approach at starting with 24mm, then 18mm before settling on 15mm. My wife found it easy and accurate to use along with a comb to ensure an even cut. At the end, you can take off the comb and use the cutter itself to edge and tidy. Also included in the box is a small brush to clean with and oil for the blade. The clippers are apparently fully washable. I was not looking forward to this experience but I have to say, I now feel confident and happy to use this alternative. And being naturally lazy who knows, I might stick to it rather than go back to the barbers.

Great product. Only used once so far, but very happy. It costs slightly more than other clippers but I think it's great. 1. the guard device allows to cut up to 2.4 cm, which is great if you need guards but don't want to go too short 2. it can go cordless 3. very nice design. It comes with a European plug, but you can use it in shavers sockets usually fitted in bathrooms. I managed to get a pretty decent hair cut on my own, with fades. Made me feel confident that I was not accidentally cutting under the guard or that the guard was going to move if I gently pressed the clippers against my head.

I bought the Braun Hair Clipper during the Covid pandemic/ lockdowns, as many other people did. I wanted a hair clipper that is reliable but that can cut different sizes, besides just the shortest lengths. Most of the hair clippers I saw only have short lengths but this hair clipper allows for haircuts up to 24mm. I've used this hair clipper perhaps six or seven times now and it works quite well. I use sizes 3mm, 6mm and 9mm to do a fade on the sides and back and I use 24mm on the top, then finishing the job with 0mm on the neck, etc. Positives: + Very easy to hold and use + Cuts hair quite well + Easy to maintain, as you can just wash it afterwards and get rid of any stuck hairs on it + Durable and reliable + Different lengths up to 24mm Negatives: - Battery only lasts about ~1 hour, or even slightly less than that, and takes several hours to charge. There are, however, two ways to mitigate this: a) Use it with the cable connected to the power outlet - it can be a bit cumbersome but it's certainly doable, b) Plan ahead and leave it charging the previous night. Despite the battery issues, I am still giving this hair clipper 5 stars.

Great for longer beards, body hair and even shaving your head, you have to take care of it or it wont last. battery is good, the spacer/length adjustment is good also log as you don't press too hard, it wont klick past the setting but it will bend if you push too hard.

hoy 23 de febrero abri mi cortadora y viene con el enchufe imposible de usar, es como de los paises nordicos. Grandisimo imposible enchufarlo. Nesecitaria un cambio de coneccion con enchufe que se pueda utilizae en mexico. O una devolucion completa.
