Lucas Oil 10915 Extreme Duty CLP Gun Oil, 4 Ounce, 1 Pack

Every time I use this cleaner, I find it effective for keeping my space neat. I also tested it for applying a tiny amount of lube, and it performed as I expected. The pleasant scent adds a nice touch, making the whole experience more enjoyable.

Used during a disassembly cleaning, but not an excessive amount, and by the next day it had noticeably made the slide of my handgun easier to manually reciprocate. This product is a penetrant so it “creeps”, traveling in and around metal surfaces. So it will cover everything, and this quality is one reason it is a good lubricant. I’d strongly suggest wearing nitrile gloves because it will also penetrate you. As they say, “If it’s on you, it’s in you.” Oils, greases, and other chemicals, absorb into your skin and then your liver has to deal with them, and it’s up against enough as is, for more read “liver rescue” by Anthony William. Petroleum based products such as this are bad for humans. This product smells. The liquid vaporizes and has some fumes-warns of this on the package-so it is best to use somewhere ventilated if possible. I don’t like the chemical smell of this stuff (it still smelled the next day), and I also like it touching my skin. But it works well for its intended purpose.

Seems to work as well as the Remington CLP I’ve had for ages. As a pure lubricant for my bolt carrier group I go with something else like Umbrella. This seems like 3 in1 household oil with some windex in it but serves the purpose for overall light cleaning and rust prevention. That’s what I wanted so I’m pleased with the purchase. Regarding “extreme duty” in the title, that’s pure marketing BS.

Very good quality oil. Stays on metal surfaces for a long time. I’ve bought this oil many times. It’s one of my favorite oils.

LucasOil makes top quality products for lubrication. I have used their ultrasonic solution too and it works great. All the CLP products are similarly priced and LucasOil is a solid choice for performance. This was a spare bottle for my range bag. A slightly smaller applicator (needle tip) would be helpful for some firearms applications.

Nice oil in a handy container. Purchased to remove very slight rust markets on a blued gun barrel. Worked like a charm with some 0000 steel wool. Coated barrel after and hope to arrest the problem in the future. Happy with purchase and would buy again.

This stuff works amazing and smells great too, no heavy solvent smell. Works amazing in actions and barrels when removing copper isn't a concern.
