Great Guitar for the Price
I have had mine for three years. I had been looking for a cheap guitar for a project. I had heard good things about Grote and I wanted a electric spanish style body with P90s. My plan was to upgrade the electric parts and tuners. I was going back and forth on pulling the trigger when I noticed if I got an Amazon CC they'd knock off $100, So I pulled the trigger for $89. I was more than impressed and pleased with the build quality. Neck is very friendly and easy, though I hit the fingerboard and frets with 0000 steel wool and the red finish on the body feels a bit coarse. I replaced the tuners with Grover Roto-matics and that was it. The pickups are very pleasing to my ears. They can be very pretty and also knarly. The pots, switch and jack are fine. The bridge is good enough. Everytime I pick it up I play for hours. Whether a beginner or experienced, this is a good guitar, especially for the money. I also have the jazz version in natural with a single P90. TBH, it might even be nicer. Stays in tune and plays great.

Buy it!!!!
I am a seasoned guitar player of over 15yrs, with many national tours under my belt. I heard about this guitar in a forum and thought I would check it out. I figured for less than $200, a 335 style, p90s, and gorgeous green in matte… I’ll give it a shot. I normally hate knock off chinese headstocks, but really kinda like this one lol! I am pretty blown away with the quality of this guitar at its price point. It came with the action a touch higher than I prefer and intonation needed tweaking, but I go through this with every guitar I buy even the most expensive brands. The pickups are pretty darn good as well, and I prob won’t be changing them. The only reason for 4 stars is the tuning keys and bridge, those will be changed out as they won’t work for me in a professional setting. But hey! It’s a <$200 guitar, so I’m not gonna fret it!!! This would be a great guitar for any age and level of guitarist. Highly recommend!!!

Much nicer than I imagined.
I thought, for the price that this guitar would be cheap feeling and sort of junky. I figured it is trying to accomplished too much for too little money. In truth, it is not junky or cheap in any way. I have been playing guitar for over 40 years and I make a living off my guitar playing and singing. This is a REALLY nice guitar! (I bought the red one). Every single detail of this guitar is high quality, it may look cheap in some of the images but it is not. A few reviewers said it was cheap... they were wrong. It is made solid and rugged and it is not heavy. I hate heavy guitars, they tire me out and they are not fun to play after about 4 hours of playing them. This guitar is both rugged and light, both very good features. Its sound is sweet and the craftsmanship is precise and prefect. It is not loaded with abalone and gold inlays, but who needs all of that, it has what is important. Good tuners, pickups, it is solid and well built and a nice matte finish for video work. I am very glad I went out on a limb and bought this. The pickups are sweet and mellow and the action is perfect right out of the box, the inlayed banding around the edges is flawless and the wood is finely crafted. Also, no sharp frets. I simply can find no fault... This is an envious guitar to own. I'm glad I decide to buy it over other options. It has an earthy look and feel, perfect guitar.

Holy cow...the truss rod fell out!!
This is what I saw when I opened it up(ref. First pic). I thought maybe they left an adjustment tool in it, but when I picked the guitar up and tried to grab it, it slipped out of my fingers, and fell down through the neck, making a very unhealthy clunking sound down towards the body. That's when I realized that it was actually the truss rod....🤬!!! The neck itself also felt VERY strange. It felt hollow, and the rattling truss rod pretty much confirmed this. The wood of the neck feels like balsa wood. Can't think of any other way explain it. Very light, with MASSIVE pours in it. Thought it said a maple neck. I could be wrong about that, but it is certainly not like any maple I've ever seen(I'm a woodworker...not just a punk with an opinion, well...maybe that too). Its all too bad to, because, after struggling to get it in tune with no truss rod(quite a process I'd rather never repeat), and plugged it in, I had a blast playing it! It sounded amazing, though, some of that could just be my amp. Played it through a mess boogie studio 22+, so take that into account. I'd have liked to do a setup. Get the action where I like it, and see where it goes, but that would have meant they'd keep my money hostage, that much longer, and it would have just been a tease. I chose NOT to get a replacement. If they can't notice something like this, then their quality control is just straight up nonexistent!!! I've bought quite a few of these super cheap guitars, and learned to temper my expectations, but this borders on ridiculousness! There were plenty other issues with its finish, and the electronics, but what's the point of beating a dead horse?

I cannot believe the quality of this thing.
This thing shouldn’t be this good. I changed the tuners out for locking tuners and the thing just plays so well. It has an incredible tone and tuning the bridge for the intonation is so easy my kids could do it. Plays and sounds like a dream. I keep changing cosmetics to meet my personal preference but even the way it comes out of the box is playable in a few minutes. It’s not glossy by any means and i was worried about the wood at first but the condition is just right for it. Extremely smooth action.

Buy this Guitar
Although cheap in price, the build quality on this guitar is exceptional. You don't get much distinction between the pickups though. However I would recommend this to anyone needing a semihollow on a budget. The tuners seem to hold on, and because it's so light it is comfortable to play in lap or standing. The action was decent right out of the box, and the overall sound is warm almost ethereal.
