I have been using a lifepo4 battery for my trolling motor, and lithium batteries have a different discharge curve than typical lead acid batteries, so the built in battery monitor for the trolling motor doesn't work. This gives me a more accurate idea of how much battery I have left on a trip and know when I need to turn back and head in. This monitor can be selected for many different kinds of batteries such as lifepo4, lead acid, and other battery types. I like the idea of setting the buzzer to go off at a certain level so that you know to start heading back home soon, but I have not set that up yet. overall i like it a lot, it's small, clear to read, and seems like a good deal so far.

Bought this to monitor the voltage on my 24V trolling motor system real-time. I set it up according to the the directions... Mode1: P 24 (lead acid 24V), Mode2: Off (No time-out on display), Mode3: 21.6, 25.7 (0%, 100% SoC), Mode4: 22.0 (low voltage alarm), Mode5: 30 (did not change), Mode6: Off (no temperature display), Mode7: 29.3 (High voltage alarm). It works exactly as stated. Note there is a small amount of error in the voltage reading verses my $300 Innova meter, but it's pretty insignificant. A few noteworthy items: 1) This predicts battery state of charge (SoC) purely as a function of voltage. It uses a linear scale with the voltages setup in mode3. 0% at the low voltage and 100% at the high voltage. Unfortunately lead acid battery SoC curves aren't really linear vs voltage, but it gives you an idea of where you are at. Also as the voltage fluctuates with device loads, the SoC reading will fluctuate right along with it. For me it's not a problem, I only really pay any attention to the SoC% (and the Voltage readings for that matter) after a settling period with the trolling motor not being used. 2) The device uses power even when the display is off. With the display on and the light on, the unit consumes ~9mA, with the display & light off it consumes ~1mA. This might not be a problem depending on your application, but I store this boat over the winter and don't want any additional parasitic loads or to have to disconnect the batteries every time, so I installed a water proof switch inline with this device to truly shut it down when my boat is not in use. 3) The display is quite small. I've not used it on the boat yet, so I can't comment on how easy it is to read mounted 6 ft away (near my feet) in bright sun light. I'll update this later. Update: Installed on the boat and can easily be read from 5-6ft away in most lighting conditions. Note that the glare of the full sun can make any display hard to read. 4) The alarm can be silenced by pressing the mode button for less than 1 second. 5) The temperature display is only available in Degrees C. I live in the US and prefer Degrees F. I shut off this temperature display, because with my 24V system and the temperatures I mainly use the boat (20-30C) combined with the small display size, I'm concerned it could easily be confused with the Voltage reading. How water proof is it? Time will tell! It will get a full test mounted near the bow of my boat. I'll update this review if the unit fails due to water intrusion. I like the fact that it can be set up for different types of batteries. I plan to upgrade my boat in the future to LiFeP04 batteries and will only have to make a small configuration change to this unit.

Installed this in my 2016 Club Car Precedent. First, this is NOT a state of charge meter. It provides real time voltage readings which change continuously while operating. I’m okay with that as,n the end, it provides more useful information as to what is going on. To get an actual “state of charge” value you have to stop and let the pack relax for a few minutes. Values are accurate compared to my hand held multimeter. Install and setup was easy, readout is bright and easily readable. Unit is fully sealed against water and I expect it to last much longer than the last two meters I installed which failed after they got wet.

Product was packaged and delivered as usual, it was easy to install and works as advertised, the on con would be that it's led display could be brighter for daytime use.

Very small. Short connection wires. Not clear how to program and it provides false information if not perfectly programmed. I did not spend a lot on this but will have to go back and get a real battery monitor that works with a lithium marine battery.

the low voltage alarm comes on exactly where I set it, and as the battery recharges, the alarm stops at the same voltage. I don't know about the high voltage alarm. I hope I won't find out. At first it didn't seem to be loud enough, but I can hear it on the first floor from the basement, with the door closed.

I spliced this waterproof monitor directly into the factory wiring on my golf cart. I really like how easy it was to flush mount for a clean, built-in look. Functionally, the reading fluctuates a bit and it never quite registers a full 100%, even after a complete charge. While it isn't precision-accurate, it gives me a solid general idea of where my battery pack is at so I don't get stranded. Good visual gauge for the price.

Installed this on a stand up ride on vacuum. Though it is an expensive machine it doesn't have a battery gauge. It just runs with a green light until the vacuum motor shuts off from the voltage dropping too low, then the green light blinks green. I hated it shutting off in the middle of a large carpeted area. So this was the perfect solution. All I did was set the battery type a lead acid (they are really AGM but it reads the same). Then I set the highest voltage under a load 100% and the lowest voltage when the vacuum motor shuts off as 0%. Accurately tells me the remaining capacity. It takes some fine tuning to get the voltage right for it to accurately tell you the battery %, but it's worth it. The vacuum is 36v and this little guy let me know when the old lead acid batteries were over charging.
