Use easier yarn if you can
This yarn is a bit tricky since it was my first time making anything. The yarn kept splitting and its small and hard to see. If I could go back, I'd get some easy yarn instead. As a whole, this is a cite little kit with good instructions especially since my daughter helped me with what the Dec, stc, etc. Meant. Would make a good gift. I ordered 4 donut sets for my daughter's friends for valentines day. They are really cute!

Love the kit
This is such a cute crochet kit! Instructions can be difficult to follow, but comes with two books. One for the patterns and one to decode the abbreviations. The one I felt was most difficult is the sunflower hanging plant; better have a hot glue gun on hand, you get one glue stick to secure the flowers and leaves in place. The succulents were my favorite and they keep me company at work.

Errors in instructions
I have just started making the flowerpot & soil. I’m an experienced crocheter & I have found errors in the instructions that will probably cause a beginner to pull out their hair wondering why pattern is not working up correctly. RND 6 of the flowerpot should be 1 ch ( 4sc, inc, 4sc) *8 times, as = 48sts RND 9 of the flowerpot should be 1ch (12sc, inc, 12sc) *4 times as = 56sts RND 17 of the flowerpot should be 1ch (12sc, dec, 12sc) * 4 times as =52sts The soil pattern goes wonky on round 6 RND 6 should be 1ch (4sc, inc, 4sc) *4 times, as = 52sts That is as far as I have gotten so far. If I find any more discrepancies I will post them. However it’s looking like these are going to make up very cute.

Great beginner project
I loved that the video tutorial walked me through each step in the process slowly and was really easy to understand. Everything came in the kit including yarn scissors, needles, and stich counters. The instructions were also easy to read.

Great Little Kit for Beginners
I bought this little kit for my daughter to learn how to crochet and she loves it! I comes with a decent set of tools but the most valuable thing happens to be the step by step instructions of how to start when you are a complete beginner. Like any skill it will take her time to master but this kit gives all the resources required for her to get started making some cool little things. We are still using the test yarn but I guess my one complaint is that it is hard to manage with such small hooks. I could see how using a larger hook may be easier for beginners but I was able to go quite fast after only a few minutes of practice.

Cute designs, acceptable videos, cheap yarn
These designs are super cute! The kit contains everything you’ll need to make 4 complete projects, and then some. It even includes stitch markers, yarn needle, 2 hooks (too small for the yarn IMHO), wire (for the stems), scissors and a glue stick (but no glue gun). The instruction booklets are well written, which surprised me. There is a beginner’s guide book which covers vocabulary and a how-to for each stitch needed to make these projects. The videos echo the booklets and are very thorough. If you can understand the slight accent, you’re golden. And that’s where my compliments end. The yarn is akin to synthetic embroidery yarn - splits and unravels SUPER easy and would be incredibly frustrating for a beginner. The Guide Page says it’s cotton yarn. I looked at the Amazon listing and it doesn’t mention the fiber content, so I can’t really complain. It is most definitely NOT cotton. Cotton, when burned, should turn to ash. This melted - rather quickly, too - watch me almost burn my fingers! It’s thinner than the worsted weight yarn I purchased for another amigurimi project. I think the hooks provided are too small for the yarn. My stitches were so tight and tiny, I couldn’t see where I was supposed to insert my hook. I picked up my 3.5mm hook and started the project (I’ll try to upload a finished project picture/video, if I ever finish). As an advanced beginner/intermediate crocheter, I can do this project but it is not as easy as it should be. I will use their yarn but I used a 3.5mm hook rather than the 2.5mm hook included in the kit. The designs themselves would be doable for a beginner if you have better, easier to use, yarn - which you can totally do. Buy better yarn and the appropriate sized hook, use the booklets/videos for the pattern and use the rest of the materials (eyes, wire, glue stick) to complete the project. I actually like buying these kits for their patterns, The instruction videos are a major plus. Here’s to some happy hooking :) Hopefully I’ll finish this project.

Worst yarn to learn with
Pros: the instructions and video are great. Cute colors for yarn If you already know how to crochet. Cons: this is the worst yard possible to learn with and after 2 hours and 3 different videos I finally learned that there is a WAY better yarn for beginners that do not fray!!!! I am confused why a “beginner” kit doesn’t have the correct yard that is the easiest to learn with. I HIGHLY recommend learning with thick yarn and getting all your stitches down 100% and then you can use this kit after you already know how to crochet.

This crochet kit is kind of a mixed bag. On the one hand, if you stick with it and figure everything out, you end up with something super cute. But getting there? It's a bit of a hassle, to be honest. First off, there are no written instructions included, which is a bummer. And the videos they provide? Not all that helpful. So if you're hoping to dive right in and get started without any confusion, you might be in for a surprise. It feels like you're better off just buying some yarn and hitting up YouTube for tutorials that actually make sense. Also, it doesn't come with all the materials you need. That means you'll have to scout around for the missing bits and pieces, which is a bit of an annoyance, especially when you thought you were getting everything in one go. So yeah, while the end product is adorable, the journey there is kind of a headache. Might be easier to just do your own thing with some yarn and internet guidance.

The little plants are so cute and come out looking exactly like the photo if you can follow the instructions. The video instructions are pretty helpful - beginners might have to watch at a slower pace because they go pretty fast, but if you are intermediate then it’s a pretty easy and fast project to go through! The yarn splits easily so I would be mindful of that.
