I think a lot of the reviews on this sandbox are misleading. The wood does seem a little flimsy. We had no issues with the wood cracking. When screwing the screws in. I think if you overtork the screw, that's where people are getting cracks in the wood. There's plenty of space for both of my toddlers to play. It took about 10 50 pound bags of sand to fill it.

Super easy to build great size and it’s adorable when collapsed with the canopy.

For the dollar amount, it is worth it. The design is great and I will probably one day replicated it (maybe scaled up a bit) using actual lumber. The thing is made out of very, very soft fir. It won't rot, but it will break. I was gentle with assembly and everything is intact and will survive probably as long as my kids' interest in sand boxes does anyway. If you priced treated lumber from a big box store to make your own, it would cost twice as much just for the wood. Yes, this is made out of low-grade wood that isn't that sturdy, but what do you expect for the price?

Nice sandbox, instructions not great.

This is a really cute sandbox with a lot of potential!! The benches fold out nicely and the canopy creates really good shade for the sandbox. However, the quality of the wood is not good. I used all the screws it provided with the prefilled holes and the wood still split. The top where the canopy is is very flimsy, the support beams are really wobbly and the staples where it connects to a “T” on top have come out on both sides. I really love the design I just wish the quality of wood was better ! Easy assembly as well.
