Works well, simple
This is actually a pretty good tool. It's definitely not as good as an electronic stud finder but in a pinch this works. I like it because I can throw it in my pocket as I'm walking around through the house to hang pictures or other items I can just pull it out of my pocket and bam I got a stud. The concept is simple there is a magnet inside the back of the tool that looks for screws or nails once you find a screw or a nail it's easy to tell where the center of the screw is by the pull of the magnet. That doesn't mean that's the center of the stud because some installer probably missed the center of the stud by a little bit so you have to be creative and have a little bit of luck when you sink a screw into the wall and hope you hit the stud. 9 times out of 10 it's right and it's on and it works. The laser is very helpful when you're actually going to hang the picture or whatever it is you're putting up on the wall you can shoot a line across or up to the ceiling from below wherever it is you found the nail and easily put the screw or nail in the correct place on the wall.

A stud finder with a laser and a level making a significant difference.
I ran across this on Facebook and immediately ordered one. When it arrived, I opened it and took it around the house to use it. The device works by locating the nail or screw used to attach the drywall to the stud, or finds metal stud. You may need to move the stud finder around a bit—think up and down, along with side to side— but when it finds a screw or nail, the magnet grabs onto it, and you can actually let go; it stays attached to the wall (or I was able to). I love the laser marker and level. I struggle to visualize a straight line, which makes it difficult for me to follow one to put in a screw if I am hanging or nailing something that needs to hit a stud. Now for the potential downside. If the build team was not so "on the mark" when building—and missed the stud and left the nail or screw in the drywall—you might get a false reading. I suggest that if you find a nail or screw, go up or down to confirm you find a row of them, not just one (or see if you find more nearby, which has happened to me). Like with anything else that uses a battery, I remove the batteries when I store it. Ziplock bags are your friend here, as I don't use a stud finder daily or weekly. This is a good device, and the addition of the laser and the level is an improvement on a standard stud finder.

Simple, Clever, Very Handy
This Kreg magnetic stud finder with laser is a really smart tool. It’s super easy to use—no batteries, just move it along the wall and it finds screws/nails in studs, then marks the spot with the laser. The magnets are strong enough to hold it in place, which is actually pretty useful when working alone. Downside: it’s not as precise as electronic stud finders on thicker walls, so you may need to double-check in some cases.

You need one!
Great product. Takes the guess work out of things and is quick and easy to use. A must have in the tool box

Really cool device!
This is an amazing stud finder. I was skeptical how it would work through drywall, but the magnets found nails or screws in the wall and stick well! The laser and level are super handy to project the line up the wall and the laser is bright enough to use in a well lit room.

Just doesn't work on lathe and plaster - look elsewhere
The idea is great and the Kreg Stud Finder works well on drywall however on lathe and plaster wall, ours anyway, the magnets are just not strong enough to register the nail heads and certainly not strong enough to hold the finder on the wall to allow use of the laser. With the battery, etc, the Kreg Stud Finder is just too heavy. I would recommend, for lathe and plaster, a simple magnet with either audible (a click) or a visual indicator and which is 1/3 the price! In my testing it seemed to work ok for drywall walls.

Buena luminosidad
Buena luminosidad del laser durante el día, sin embargo solo se puede nivelar en el sentido del láser, por lo que cuesta trabajo ajustar para perforaciones a 90 grados
