Is this wood or press board?

The top is wood. The rest is a high quality press board. Much heavier and sturdier then I expected.

It says the lift top coffee table is made of “wood.” Does that mean solid wood? Engineered wood? Particle board with veneers?

The top is wood and the walls are a high quality press board.

Can the lift mechanism be reversed so it lifts away from the barn door side? barn doors look good away from sofa but the lift goes the other way.

It does not come reservable from the manufacturer.

Did you guys have any problems installing the side panels?

No we didn't have a problem at all building the coffee table
