5 stars
Great device for the kitchen or bedside table. The screen is clear, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for its size—perfect for daily music, podcasts, or radio. Alexa responds well to commands, and smart home integration is seamless. It’s been a really helpful addition to our daily routine.

Solid smart speaker
Really handy little smart display and a nice upgrade if you want something compact for a bedside table, kitchen, or desk. The screen is clear enough for quick information, timers, smart home controls, music, and video calls, and Alexa works well for everyday use. It is not the biggest or most powerful device, but for what it is, it does the job nicely. I would definitely recommend waiting for it to go on sale though, as it feels much better value at a discounted price.

Great Product
The Echo Show 5 features an excellent, clear display and commendable sound quality. Its user-friendly interface is a significant advantage; however, Its command processing speed is slower compared to my previous Echo device.

Easy to set up on the screen.
Excellent. Easiest new tech I've had to set up. Very easy and Alexa was ery helpful. Sound quality, video and additional access features are all outstanding for my requirements.

Glorified Alarm Clock, with adverts...
Having used an Echo for some years to listen to the radio (which it sometimes has trouble doing via the internet, whereas my Pure internet radio has no issues) I bought this Echo Show for one reason only - to be able to remote view my Tapo doorcam. Firstly, the menu system is simply awful, slow (you often don't think you have pressed anything for several seconds) and not user-friendly, relying on a lot of settings to be made in the Alexa app - which despite my best efforts is unable to detect ANY devices in the household so therefore I cannot set any favourites or even access the majority of them via Alexa. I set up the doorcam via the Tapo app and this works perfectly. The Echo Show is able to show the doorcam view perfectly as well and the quality is excellent. Whilst it's on screen. Which is for around 15 seconds or so. Then the device decides to return to the 'Home' screen, via random adverts. Swiping down to access the menu usually activates the advert, resulting in Alexa voicing a full description of dog chews, tampaxes etc, none of which are of any use to me. Eventually the home screen appears, which initially toggled through a load of info screens such as weather, to-do lists etc (though I did eventually find a way of turning these off, one by one, in some sub-menu or other) resulting in the device then displaying selected background images, one by one, with a fade to black between each one - equally annoying and something you can't stop unless you install Amazon Photos and upload a single picture to it and set the Echo Show to show that as a home screen image instead! Sometimes the device would eventually go to a darkened screen, then inexplicably return to a random advert and cycle through everything again. I can deal with those issues, because I just want to look at the doorcam, on the screen, all the time, from my workshop. The device appears to be unable to do that, switching from whatever I want back to the home screen without any input from me within a few seconds. I know the cam is working fine as I can view it in the Tapo app, constantly, with zero issues. If I ask the Echo Show to view the cam, it does so. Then shortly afterwards switches back to the home screen. I can find no way to stop it doing this so currently the device has been relegated to the bedroom where it might become an alarm clock, depending on whether the random adverts light the screen up in the middle of the night. Instead I have dug out my previous mobile phone, installed the Tapo app on it, and I can monitor the doorcam constantly through that instead. Wish I'd have saved my money :-(

Great sound but display is a let down
I brought this in a deal. I would never pay the full price for it. The sound is amazing for a little device, however there are a couple of points that let it down alot. The delay when speaking and asking alexa to do anything seems alot longer than my other device and other devices I have had in the past, but the biggest thing for me is the display. I brought this predominantly for the clock, however, if I just use the clock, I have to reset the device at least once a day as the screen just goes blank and stays that way and the only way to get it back is to reset on the app. I have tried trouble shooting this issue several times without success. The only way I have found to keep the display on is to allow photos to be shown making the clock either non existent or very tiny that its virtually impossible to see. I would rather just display the clock. I cant seem to pick and choose which photos it shows either meaning it will show pictures id rather not see on there ir dont want others to see, but I dont want to delete them pictures from existence or need to keep them for various reasons such as work. Im also not the biggest fan of the new voice of alexa in general. She sounds annoyed at me every time I ask her something especially if I have to ask her to repeat what she says. Overall id recommend the dot over the show and may consider replacing in the future.

great features
It's always been a dream of mine to have one. I'm loving my companion. I want to send one to my mother in Brazil; I wish it were as cheap as it is here.

Terrible.
DO NOT BUY THIS. Worst Alexa I have ever used. It’s desperately slow. Glitchy. Unresponsive. And plain useless. I gave it the benefit of the doubt for a few months, but it’s terrible. I have 100mps Wi-Fi nearby, and other Alexa’s (dot and plus) nearby that work perfectly with years. This is just a terrible product.
