Well stitched just not as thick leather as I believe the quality should be
Neither rose nor salmonberry bush thorns are prevented from sticking your hands while using as the ones from Lee Valley are. Not send back but wouldnโt order again these particular gloves.

Love these gloves, finger tips could be sewn better.
We love these gloves. We moved to Arizona last year and, as another reviewer who influenced our purchase pointed out, everything here has thorns. I used the bejeezus out of these gloves over 3 months of re-landscaping, I ended up using them as work gloves because they saved my hands from blisters during hundreds of wheelbarrow runs. I just bought another pair of the white gloves, as the finger tips have opened up on 4 of the fingers from the stitching coming apart and it wasn't very fun moving a large agave the other day with them in this state. They protect from most thorns, the super thin cactus spines can still come through. My husband has (mostly) loved the pair I bought for him, he wears them when pruning the mesquite. The only down side of the gloves he has, the brown ones, is that they die his hands orange and I then tease him about having Oompa Loompa hands, which doesn't go over well. Overall good gloves, need sturdier stitching. Good price, recommended.

SIMPLY THE BEST ! : )))
I garden for over 30 years and I finally discovered those last year - yeayyyy !!!! I tried every possible brand and make in those 30 years but these are by far the best leather gardening gloves I ever owned. They come very high up the arm and hand part has correct structure and sizing. I did not have a SINGLE incident of thorn going through the glove and I have about 30 rose bushes that I regularly trim and work around. I ordered 2 new pairs today (one for me and one for my husband ) because after a year of heavy and daily use for all gardening chores they deteriorated somewhat which is absolutely normal thing to happen for natural material. I am actually impressed that they are still usable after such "abuse" . I will continue to use old ones for sweeping and weeding and use new one for finer jobs, such as trimming and cutting roses. PS: Yes, they initially have some kind of chemical smell, but it dissipates in fresh air in couple of days and I do not mind that at all.

Short fingers; long thumbs, size chart not helpful - but I love these gloves!
Adding an update b/c I actually started using these gloves and they are nearly miraculous. I have spent hours pulling barberry and wild raspberry stickers by hand and not a single prick! I find the gloves very comfortable too -- worth some patience trying to get the size right. The size chart is a crap shoot b/c they don't provide useful measurements like the palm circumference or the middle finger length. I ordered both Small and Medium b/c I wasn't sure of which and return shipping was free. Small definitely didn't work, but now I'm wondering if I need a Large! (And of course, the Large is not available.) This looks like it could be a nice glove, but either the fit is odd or my hands are. LOL. I guess I have very long fingers. My middle finger measures 3.5" and the glove (M) measures 3.25". My thumb measures 2.25" and the glove measures 2.75" -- that's a big difference. If I try the Large, hoping for longer fingers, I'm sure the palm will swim and heaven knows what will happen to the thumb. I guess I have to look at other manufacturer gloves. Anyway, since returns were free while I was shopping it was worth a try -- be sure to look at that before purchasing b/c their size chart is not at all helpful.
