I used this ice cream salt to cover my concrete steps and walkway, because all the stores were out of snowmelt. I had to use this product to make sure that I did not fall on a newly replaced knee. It worked longer than traditional snowmelt and rock salt. It leaves a coating even when it melts from the rain, that actually secures your footing further. For emergency purposes, this was an affordable and excellent substitution during a particulary harsh snowstorm. I bought 2 boxes of 4 units of salt and even shared 4 units with my neighbors and I still have 2 boxes left. This an excellent standby, thatvwas recommended by an online gardener.

Works perfectly for making ice cream in the machine
When you buy this brand, you definitely are paying extra for the name brand. Worked perfectly in my new machine with ice for making my 1st batch of homemade ice cream today! :) I have read that you can use Any Rock Salt in the machines for making ice cream, but for my 1st batches, I went with Morton, because I trust the name, but I also bought a 50lbs bag of pure Rock Salt today for future use in the ice cream machine, & for tossing outside during icy weather lol The most important thing to remember, is that you don't eat this salt. Your ice cream ingredients go into a metal cylinder with a lid that the churning motor attaches to, Then you put about 6 cups of ice around that cylinder, & about 1/2 cup of this Rock Salt evenly on top of that, & you just layer the Ice, then Rock Salt to near the top of bucket, so this Rock Salt Never touches the ice cream. I hope this helps others in understanding :) I Definitely recommend this to anyone in need.
