UCO Cocoon Neoprene Cover for UCO Lantern

Fits great seems to do the job quite well,haven’t taken a camping yet.

Got this to help protect my lantern and it fits it snuggly and is about a 1/4 in thick. Will protect it while traveling in a pack, or in a storage container.

I've had candle lanterns as part of my household emergency kit for years. Invariably, the hooks, chains, and wire bails would get tangled during storage, with is a pain resolving after the lights have gone out. I finally broke down and bought these well-made covers. I should have done so sooner. They easily slide over the collapsed lantern, and are roomy enough to permit the inclusion of a book of safety matches. Now the candle lanterns are covered, protected, and ready to go without a hassle. Delivery was very prompt, everything was well-packaged for shipment, and the covers were exactly as described.

Well made. Quality of assembly is apparent. Good material. Will stand up to normal use, being packed in a bag or backpack. Not crushproof, but will protect your UCO candle lantern glass from breakage.

I really had reservations about buying these things, being made in China and costing $7.58 for a piece of neoprene (foam) but said what the hell and ordered two of them. I have to say I was really surprised when I received them, the stitching and the fabric covering the neoprene was very nice and it even had a cool little UCO logo on the top cover. These cocoons have a hinge and no latch to keep them closed but they fit pretty snug, I made a latch out of Velcro for them but I think it's just overkill. You can also fit the lantern with the bail and chain in these but they will have a bulge at the bottom and they won't stand up, if you don't mind that then go for it. The only con that I see with these is that they should have made them 1/2 taller so the bail and chain can fit better, other then that I highly, highly recommend these to all of you UCO Micro owners out there.

The fit is very snug but I suppose it has to be in order to protect properly. It won't save your lantern from being crushed, but it will save it from the day to day drop and mishandling, as well as less protective packing in the backpack.

Fits the UCO original perfectly. Yes the carry handle/hanger does fit in there too, it's snug, but it'll go. As for how well it protects the lantern I couldn't tell you, as I have not dropped it or hit it with anything yet and I hope I never do. But what I can tell you that it does is makes it easier to pack as the handle is secure. It also cuts down the noise factor too. Adding an ounce or so to my pack to reduce some rattle is a fair trade off for me. I was also able to squeeze a small Bic in there too, so now the lighting needs are met in one convenient package.
