It works great, but…
UPDATE II: After months of waiting for Chamberlain to fix the video delete function, they finally did it! I’m now VERY happy with ALL of my Chamberlain/MyQ devices and rate them 5 stars. I only hope the app developers learned a valuable lesson…IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT! UPDATE: my original post stands, and now for the reason I changed the rating to 2 stars: The software engineers and/or App developers put out a change to the already-working-just-fine MyQ App which removes the ability to BULK DELETE videos. You can only delete videos one-by-one, which, if you have 50, 100 or in my latest experience, well over a hundred recorded videos, you’ll spend 30-45 minutes or more, clearing videos from your storage account. The only other option is to delete them every single day, which is another pain in the burro. And here’s the kicker…Chamberlain has known for several months that this is a HUGE issue for users of their camera products, but has failed to fix the App in spite of too-numerous-to-count complaints on the App Store reviews. Chamberlain told me two months ago that they were aware of this problem and were working to resolve it. BULL! Two months later and it still isn’t fixed. All they had to do was issue another update, turning back the clock to the previous version. They aren’t fixing anything because, hey, they got their money for the cameras, so why fix anything? PREVIOUS REVIEW: This video keypad is fantastic in all respects but one, which I will address later in this review. Video quality is great, audio is crystal clear and easy to communicate with delivery people, etc. I’m glad I opted to upgrade from the basic keypad I’ve had for years. Setup was easy as well. Now for the shortcoming: although the battery lasts quite a long time (mine has been going for over 3 months before needing charging), it takes 10+ hours to recharge. That means no keypad or surveillance available all day (or night if you’re charging at night). And, to my knowledge and experience, the only way you’ll know the battery needs charging is a notification on your phone that the keypad is off line. To solve this issue, one must buy a second battery, keep it charged up, and swap batteries when the active one goes dead. That’s a $30 expense that I would rather have not had, but the alternative of no video surveillance and no keypad leaves no choice. And that’s why I gave this otherwise stellar device 4 stars instead of 5.

Could be way better
I have and have used myQ products with great success for a very long time, so my exceptions are already set based on my previous experiences. I needed to replace my simple garage key pad - and treated myself to this "splurge" over the basic model. However: What disappointment, MyQ you can do much better! My MyQ Video Keypad ($60) Out of the box it looks and feels like a quality piece, seems perfect for my hot Florida temperatures and RAIN it's huge and not in a good way battery takes for ever to charge - 4,5,6 hours idk I plugged it in right away and checked in the morning and it was finally green the fact that it uses a rechargeable battery ONLY, without an included wired option - bonkers if you do buy this thing , buy the accessory wired product along with it ($15) I already had MyQ hub installed and highly recommend it - however without the hub - just because you have a this fancy new keypad don't expect to be able to open and close your garage door remotely - you can't - you'll still need the HUB ($30) set up process - DO THIS B4 YOU INSTALL - 2-3 failed attempts then was like, forget it, send it back - tried one more time and wallah - don't what I did but it connected immediately, code door - open , door - closed - perfect on to the installation place it where you want attach the angle mount - can't hang it without the angle mount - don't like the angle - buy a different mount - another added cost drill a hole to run the not included wire install the not included wire and route it properly connect the keypad to the mount and tighten the thumbscrew - THUMBSCREW not a keyed latch or any other secure method. the angle is the angle and the field of view is the field of view you can, in the app, adjust the area of motion detection - and even that is somewhat lacking. it's big it's ugly it's battery powered and will require charging or a second battery for back up to swap long charging time does NOT include a wired option picture is fair - no better than a blink camera no option to turn off the motion LEDs unable to open and close the garage door with your app WITHOUT a hub! ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION IS $150 FOR MULTIPLE CAMS AND $80 FOR JUST 1 !!! WOW so yes - I have it installed - it is what it is - it works - alerts on motion - and can see video REAL TIME ONLY - it's shiny, it's new , and will hopefully serve it's purpose and it's white on white so it will blend in a good as it can. Maybe A better option worth considering: Just buy the basic remote keypad ($15-$20) Add the Smart Garage Control - Wireless Garage Hub and Sensor ($30) - NO ANNUAL FEE Additional programming and mine will close at specific times of the day if open, will close if i leave the area, will open when I return etc etc can open and close remotely, like 1000's of miles away remotely If you have to have video: add a Blink Camera - oh guess what - these are battery powered too, but the batteries last for month, I have some over 2 years with the same AA batteries installed. and optional wired or solar power available. Single outdoor cam and sync module - $45 (must have at least one sync module) Camera doorbell with sync module start around $35 other kits are more Blink subscription is $100 annually. MyQ: video KeyPad, Wire kit, Hub - $105 - plus subscription (one cam $80, multiple cams $150) = $185-$255 Blink Option: Basic Keypad, MyQ Hub, Blink Cam - $90 plus subscription (any # of cams $100) = $190+ **Wired video cameras will always be superior to wireless**

Love this!
This is perfect for watching the coming and going of teens and cleaning people. Clear images, time stamp, and easy to use. Changing battery is a pain but not sure there is a way around that without electric or solar.

Overall, pretty cool device, but...
Easy to install, but you'll need a standard 110v plug, ideally with decent line of sight to the garage door. Color camera is decent too. The really cool thing is the app. You can get amazon in-garage delivery, set temp codes for guests, and if you're really O-C, you can double check that your garage door is really closed right from your restaurant table. And if you have Wi-Fi, you can open and close your garage door from your balcony in Puerto Vallarta. The bad news: The (removable) rechargeable battery life is really poor. It'll go dead on you without warning, and you'd best have another way into the house in that event ( such as a regular garage door opener, or a key). Maybe a couple months on a charge (with light usage, once you outgrow the novelty), then overnight to recharge. Still, no regrets.

If it loses WiFi, it won't open your garage. Video subscription is expensive.
When I found out it requires uninterrupted WiFi and Internet access to even open the door, I also had to try several times over the first week to get the WiFi settings to stick. It kept going offline. I almost returned it. I'm replacing a Liftmaster/Chamberlain dumb keypad, which doesn't require Internet. We don't lose Internet often, but we do have frequent guests, landscapers, propane delivery etc. I also gave a code to the local police & fire stations, so I need it to work. Second, the subscription prices are ok for one video keypad, but very high for two or more. I'm reconsidering that. Check it out before you buy this. That said, I still give this five stars. It's well made, also replaces a Ring Doorbell, so I won't have that subscription to pay. From my research, there really isn't a better option.

Nice product. Rocky start to customer support.
Overall, this is a nice device. It paired with my door opener and operates the door just fine. The camera and remote access works nicely. I installed the MyQ app on my phones and my tablets. Then, something changed on their web site and I can no longer log in. I get Error 401.122 on all my phones and tablets. I sent an email to customer support with no response. One phone is still logged in and works. I suspect if I log out I will never get back in again. Right now, this camera/keypad is useless until they fix this problem. From what I saw from internet searches, they contracted with a web site provider that delivers enhanced security. Apparently the security is so strict that nobody can log in. Others have been waiting weeks with no response. Further, this camera/keypad used to work with third-party home automation apps. The company changed their API to block access so this device is no longer usable with home automation systems that used to have a functioning app or plugin. Update 11-22-2023: I contacted MyQ support by phone. The agent escalated my problem to Tier-2. They were supposed to call me back in a few hours. It's been 2 days with no response. I will have to start over. More info: My Apple phone and tablet can log in fine. All my Android devices give the Error 401.122 when I attempt to sign in. These are on Android 10, 12 and 14. So far that's MyQ ignoring my web request for support and a no-callback on a phone request. Update 12-05-2023: I contacted MyQ support by phone a second time after completely ignoring my first request and getting no return call from Tier-2 support as promised. My second call was a repeat of the first. I can not sign in to the MyQ app with any Android device - two phones and two tablets and also fails with the BlueStacks 5 Android emulator under Windows. My three Apple devices work fine. Error 401.122 when trying to sign-in. The agent asked me to do the same things as before with no success. He then said he would escalate to Tier-2 support. I am not encouraged that I will get a callback. Nobody there is interested in helping me or maybe they made a decision with a third-party that enhanced security and blocked Android users and they can't fix it. It used to work when I installed it. Once I logged out I could never log back in again. At this time I would advise anyone considering this MyQ garage camera for use with an Android device to run away as fast as you can. Don't waste your money. Update 12-09-2023: Still no callback from MyQ Tier-2 customer support. I still can not log into the MyQ App with any of my Android devices. Still getting Error 401.122 when trying to sign-in. Funny, they did contact me by email with an automated customer satisfaction survey after I talked to the Tier-1 agent. I felt badly to provide poor ratings because it did not apply to the Tier-1 agent who tried to help me and referred me to Tier-2. I am ready to give up and take my losses. I ordered a generic keypad to replace this MyQ Camera/Keypad. Too bad. It could have been a nice thing to have if it would work like it did before they "upgraded" their web site security and locked me out. Update 12-11-2023: I finally received an update from customer support after I expressed my frustration in their automated survey. They gave me the version numbers of MyQ and the Android components that were required. They also said the phone can not be rooted. I wish they told me this a month ago when I first asked for help. I was able to log in to the MyQ app by adding the Play Integrity Fix module in Magisk. At least they finally contacted me. I was getting ready to dump it. Now I just have to remember to charge the battery! Final Update 12-12-2023: I exchanged a few emails with Tier-2 support. He was very apologetic and wanted to use my situation to help improve the performance of the teams of whom I first interacted. The conclusion to my problem is that after MyQ security updates the MyQ App will no longer work with rooted Android devices. This is unfortunate but not unreasonable. They can choose to only support standard configurations if they want. I was able to configure most of my Android devices to work with the MyQ App again. The key was to add the Play Integrity Fix module to Magisk. I was not able to log in to MyQ using the Android Bluestacks emulator in Windows nor was I successful with an unrooted Amazon Fire 10 tablet using Fire Toolbox. All my standard rooted Android devices can log in. I also understand that Chamberlain closed access to their API. This means that third party apps such as home automation integration plug-ins will no longer work. I understand why they want to block third party access for security reasons or to control access to resources and that's their right. They want to maximize revenue by funneling access through their own app including promoting subscriptions to services. Again, that's their choice. I am raising my overall rating from 1 to 3 because of their eventual good faith effort to provide support.

Great Opener
Very happy with this opener. It was easy to set up and simple to operate. It loiks much better than our older model. Definately recommend.

Close but fell down crossing the finish line
The MyQ Video Keypad works OK but it is far less consumer-focused, customizable, and intuitive than other options. To MyQ’s disadvantage for me, my garage door and camera application at our old house was a combination of Nest Cameras I bought used off the marketplace and eKyro remote openers that are $39 a pair here on Amazon. The once I got those babies setup and working, they never stopped. The eKyro remote openers worked with Alexa and HomeKit and I believe they work with nearly all the other formats. The MyQ supposedly works with HomeKit but after many attempts, I gave up and haven’t revisited it. The Ekyros are corded and we live in Oklahoma. During storm season, we would lose power often so I had my openers and remotes connected to battery backups so that we and our neighbors could get into our storm shelter without issue. The battery is the real thorn for me with the MyQ. There has to be a way to provide continuous power the keypad using the low voltage wiring already present in a garage door electrical system. I also don’t like that you can only control one door with the keypad. Lemme get on with it. My review: 🙂 - Price — I think it’s a good value for the money 🙂 - WiFi security — industry standard 🙁 - Physical security — a single Phillips-headscrew Securing the camera and battery to the housing 🫤 - Setup — had to move my router within 10 feet to get a decent WiFi connection. 😕 - Connectivity — spotty. I get numerous (non- battery related) “Your MyQ Video Opener is offline Click here to see how to reconnect” messages weekly. ☹️ - Battery — Lacking. I purchased a 2nd battery due to the abhorrent charge time which is 8-12 hrs. I am changing batteries about every 6 days. Don’t buy the battery at original price. Chamberlain has a 50% Off sale periodically. 😉 - Programming — I found adding members and guests to be straightforward and simple. While we were away on quick getaway, one of our neighbors took care of our dogs and another took care of our pool. We gave them both separate codes and could see when they came and went. You can schedule the start and stop day and time. ☹️ - Video — I get black and white video. My connection went down several times as I’m writing this review and it “Fair.” My pool NestCam is 30 ft from the router and has clear, color video. See pic. Like I said, there are better options. I doubt I could get color video if I strapped the keypad to the router itself. 🙁 - Chamberlain — You all really need to separate your products so that consumers can read valid reviews and make educated purchase decisions. I hope this helps buyers and Chamberlain.
