I feel kind of silly wearing these in public because of the over-the-ear design and the color of the cable. Anybody else feel this way?

How is isolation with these? Could you effectively block out office chatter from 10 feet away without having to max out volume?

Noise attenuation is about 22 to 26 db, based on my best estimation. That will depend upon tips as well. Shures and other narrow-bore, deep insertion IEMs attenuate up for 34db. The IT01 are average for IEMs, in other words, and much better than earbuds. Without music playing, neither Shures nor the IT01 will drown out conversation entirely, but either will drown it out fairly effectively with music playing at even a low level, say 50-60 db. JVC Spiral Dots are an excellent match for these earphones, BTW, but the stock tips are decent too.

Are they suitable for sports? resist sweat?

I would think not. They are not advertised as being water- or sweat-resistant, and they don't appear to be sealed at all.
