Great Suprise ! Looked at price and while I couldn't just throw away the money on a whim, I was wary of the hype being greater than the Kit. I was wrong though, this is a real, very robust and well made 'Work Hat'. That it has a heritage of being useful and fit for purpose is immediately evident. The 'fit and finish' exceeded my expectations being much smarter and of selected material. I thought I was getting a 'Vacation Souvenir' type regional Hat to add to my collection but I received a very 'real' Sun Hat that I can't wait for the U.K.'s annual week of Sunshine to show off to next door as they put out their washing (Living the dream - eh)!

Needed a full brim hat for kayaking.. I have other hats, but none i really like. Took a gamble on this.. wow it paid off, this hat fits fantastic, looks fantastic, has so much character.. I would love to add a pic.. but I'm not photogenic and photos do not do these hats justice at all. I have had so many compliments on it and lots of interest from people who want one. If you are considering buying one,, do it.. I have lots of hats and this one is instantly my favorite.

I had recently be `coerced' into helping out with a local scout group and noticed how my fellow conscripts favoured the classic `tilly' style of hat. I could see the merits of this style of hat, especially on more outward-bound scouting pursuits; however the material that they were made from, seemed dubious to me. Leather hats went white with sweat (that they induced upon their owner's head) and suffered quite badly in the rain and were uncomfortably heavy. Material hats, though cool and light, absorbed as much rain as sweat and the thought of wearing a `moist' hat didn't really appeal to me. As for suede hats, well all I can say is my wife lives in constant fear of it turning into a chamois cloth at the slightest sign of rain. It was pure chance, that I discovered this company on Amazon, and decided that as the price of a hat, equated to less than a round of drinks after a meeting, decided to have a punt. I made the mistake of placing the order over the jubilee weekend, so suffered at the hand of the erratic postal service. To their credit Ana at Amazonas was more than helpful in tracking down the package and always promptly answered my queries and waylaid my concerns. I have to admit it was worth the wait, well packaged, extraordinarily light and totally without peer, my tarp hat arrived. I have worn this item through a variety of different weather fronts. Bright hot sunny days; the hat provides light weight, shade that didn't make my head run with sweat. Thanks to the British weather, I wore the next day, in torrential rain, the tarp hat now comes into its element, it becomes stiffer and it seemed even more water resistant and with the strategic elastic insert, fairly impervious to gusts of wind (handy). More importantly, it's different, not your standard `run of the mill' hat, but a hat that provokes a conversation, a hat that I will be buying again.......more than likely over the next week or so, as my wife has demanded one and my fellow conscripts have now revealed that their birthdays are due; soon!

What a fantastic hat - I love it. There aren’t that many hat styles that look good on a bloke but everyone who sees me in this is very complimentary. They all want to try it on and then they look in the mirror and they want one too - even the women, it looks even better on them if I’m honest. It’s waterproof, I love the style and I love that every one is unique. The only thing I would say is that it’s not windproof - unless you have a very tight fit, the wide brim will catch the wind easily - they sell a leather chin strap as an accessory and so I would strongly recommend ordering that as well. If you’re looking for something like this and you think you might just like this style, then go for it - you will probably love it too.

I bought this hat, not just because it looked great, but because so many reviews said what wonderful hats these are! I would certainly agree. My hat arrived within 3 days, it is presented in a printed wrap within a smart box and the fit was perfect. It really looks great and an added bonus is that it smells great too. It's good to know that various accessories are available on their website, like hat strings and hat bands, but I like the basic product as it is. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and it's rare I buy a product that surpasses my expectations, but this one does. It's extremely well made, it's comfortable to wear and my wife liked it so much, she's now ordered one too! Great to buy from a company that really has an eye for detail, and is making superb use of old lorry tarpaulins! Very happy indeed.

I love it! An unusual hat with character, perfect to keep the sun off my head and neck. When it first arrived, my wife took one look and said "You're not going to keep that, are you?!" I'm pretty discerning, and despite that feedback I decided to keep it. Oddly enough, it was a bit of a talking point amongst friends when they first saw it. One said: "Wasn't convinced at first old son, but actually I can see the appeal now!" Very comfortable, apparently also water resistant but haven't tested that. I ordered the chin strap, too, having once lost a hat in Egypt to a gust of wind and was glad I did. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because there is no pocket inside the hat to tuck the chin strap into - a small oversight. Overall, a rugged but stylish hat from which I think I'll get many years' use.

When reading all the reviews, I came across one that described this hat as an oily rag. The reviewer was rather disparaging towards other purchasers who had left positive reviews. I thought being nasty about other purchasers showed poor judgement, so I decided to jump in! Boy was it a good decision. The hat is well made, looks exactly as shown in the pictures and the size too is as described. It looks old and worn, which is the look so many people are looking for, plus a percentage of the profits are going to charity. All in all it is great value for money. For me, there is no down side, and I'm looking forward to wearing it on my holiday to India. Just goes to show, that whilst checking reviews is always wise, best to ignore any nasty ones with little actual product assessment.

As we like to holiday in hot climates like Cyprus and as when you get towards 50 you start to worry about the harm too much sun can do I decided it was time to buy a hat. I actually purchased two different ones and this is by far the better of the two. Firstly the fit, I have a decent crop of hair and I found it snug enough to remain in place on a windy day whilst not too tight that my head couldn't breathe. Quality - Very robust, doesn't lose it's shape, it is a fairly rigid hat, you can press it down but not flat. Style - Modern looking, each slightly different due to it being made from recycled tarpaulin, no they don't smell oily or dirty. In all you will love this hat, I brought mine to protect me from the sun, it might not be the best in wet weather but that isn't an issue for me.

Il prodotto é buono, purtroppo viene spedito senza la sua scatola, con una carta velina troppo corta e quindi non si presenta bene
