Not particularly, but it it is good quality and rather beautiful. It still gives me great pleasure to use it. It is made of China so it is the eight you would expect, neither heavy nor light.

Can this teapot fit a loose leaf strainer?

No, it's pretty wide. You have to dump the leaves in and pour through a strainer afterwards
