ProSeal Sealpro 80726 High Temperature RTV Silicone Instant Gasket, Red

I used this for dressing a new gasket connecting exhaust manifold to downpipe. Applied both sides of gasket. Very old car (44 years!) so outlet manifold was a bit scruffy and far from flat faced. This product helped the gasket produce a perfect seal. You don’t disconnect exhaust gaskets very often so it makes sense to do a good job sealing them back up when you do. This product helps a lot with that. Excels at applications involving hot exhaust joints, but not suitable for joints involving fuel.

The gasket holding the glass in place had come away around one corner. After watching "Re-sealing oven door glass" video on YouTube, I bought this stuff.Was expecting delivery in 48 hours. Arrived next day!Dismantled the door, cleaned everything up and applied the instant gasket. Left it overnight with plenty of weight on top. Used a craft knife and some steel wool to remove the excess. Job done! And I've only used about 1/4 of the tube.I ran the oven all day on slowly increasing temperatures up to full blast, then down again. The gasket's expansion did bleed through a bit, so a final trim was needed. Other than that, this stuff has replaced the original gasket with something far better and more secure.Great product. Good price. Delivery time exceeded expectations!

Reliable sealant

I have a 1945 Lister D orchard sprayer, and the housing for the pressure relief valve is made of brass, so thus cannot cope with too much tightening of the bolts. even a paper gasket will leak, but by using this sealant, and following the instructions, you can create a beaded seal, loosely tighten the bolts, allow to cure fully ,then tighten gently further. This has proven to stop my leaks 100%, as I am able to achieve a good strong seal, without too much bolt tension, which would otherwise cause the brass cast housing to bend. (noting I levelled the surface first using a whetstone block, as the previous owner had caused considerable damage by over tightening the bolts, causing the housing flanged surface to distort.

Used this to make 2 gaskets on a vehicles cooling system thermostat housing, simply as the gasket is unavailable, so yes it is a get out of jail, but it was necessity. The gaskets were head to body and body to housing lid.Cleaned everything mechanically and chemically, ensured it was dry, added a bead, and nipped up bolts until the stuff started to evenly squeeze out and left it for about 24 hours. Then nipped them up.I would suggest anyone who works on vehicles, professionally or DIY should have some of this in their tool-chest!

I needed to re-seal the sump gasket on my focus. Ford don’t use a gasket so you have to use a sealant. Previously I used another brand and it leaked despite getting rid of all traces of the old one. No such problem with this - now it’s nice and leak free again

The RTV itself is top-grade, one of the best out there.However, it appears the company has a legendary fascination with running a major scam, there needs to be an official investigation as I do believe this is a fraudulent intential failure (motivated by profiteering at the consumer's expense)...what you may ask is the issue?The CAP!I've used a few different types of ProSeal, and they all have caps that literally deteriorate on you after a couple of uses! The caps expand at the bottom to crack vertically, or they crack along the middle all along the circumference, effectivly preventing sealing the tube meaning it all dries up near the top and has to be peeled out each time.I have cheaper toothpaste tubes here, and their tops turned tight at extreme strengths, not even just mere light pressure on closing, and their caps last for months of daily repetitive use!When it comes to anything glue relative, some big brands have a fascination with giving you poorly designed caps so that you repeat the purchase rather than repeat the usage of the tube/bottle!I jumped across to JB Weld, so have millions of others, because after some investigation (discussions with builders/mechanics), it appears this 'weak-cap' issue is generally considered across the industry as one of the longest running scams and people jumped the brands still playing this game a long time ago.If you find this revelation helpful or in-line with your experience, please do mark this review as helpful so that more people know about this, because this 'scam' needs to stop!

Works well but tends to dry out like most sealers do so I suck and seal it when I'm done using it to help it last.Sealed the wheel bearing housing on my JD three series tractor. There was a little oil dripping out when I mated the parts together so I thought there might be a sealing problem but it's fine after a few months of use.Highly recommended.

This is a really good sealant and easy to dispense from the tube with the nozzle provided. I used it on an oil sump pan with no leaks after leaving for the specified 24 hours to cure.

Da qualche km il cambio del mio Monster tendeva ad indurirsi... Una paio settimana fa decido di smontare il carter e procedere alla registrazione dell 'arpionaggio del cambio.Fatto il lavoro decido di chiudere il motore utilizzando questa guarnizione liquida al posto di quella standard perché non sono sicuro al 100% della riparazione. Nel caso dovessi intervenire nuovamente non avrò buttato un ricambio comunque costoso come la guarnizione.... Fatti un 1000 km senza problemi procederò a montare una guarnizione dedicata.Comunque il prodotto è di buona qualità non fa molti fili al momento della posa e garantisce una buona tenuta.Per evitare che al momento del l'accoppiamento del carter la guarnizione strabordi eccessivamente non esagerate con la quantità, fare una piccola striscia, poco alta ma continua.Ho usato questa guarnizione anche sul serbatoio di un decespogliatore buona riuscita anche in questo caso.La consiglio per riparazioni di emergenza o quando il ricambio originale non è disponibile.La consegna è stata rapida e ben confezionata!
