Appears to be an authentic IKAPE tamper. (Watch out for cheaper knock-offs that don't work smoothly.)

When going up and down, it feels like the internals are rubbing onto each other, making it not smooth at all. It feels relyable and it fits very well into my Hugh 51mm IMS basket tough. Update: i got annoyed and decided to dismantle it. The springs had white deposits on them, like salt or some mineral. I cleaned thoroughly and oiled the whole mechanism with food grade mineral oil. It’s much smoother now!

I like the quality of this product. Items feel hefty and strong. I got it in silver as it matches my DeLonghi espresso machine. My only complaint is the white rubber mat, it's constantly looking dirty, which I knew it would be going into this purchase. The funnel works but is just a bit too tall to fit in my coffee grinder when attached to the portafilter which is slightly disappointing, but works great when used with a dosing cup, unfortunately, not included. The distributor smoothes out the coffee grinds effectively and is satisfying to use, not sure if it really adds to to overall quality or taste of the shot. Tamper fits nicely in my portafilter and applies even pressure to the grinds. The puck screen is made of a non-magnetic material so you can't pull it out with a magnet, so it's not so easy to get out, up side is it shouldn't rust!

I've been using this now for a couple weeks and it has made a difference in the consistency in the extraction. NO more channeling and made it easier to dial in a new batch of beans.
