Definitely helps with the acid reflux problem.
This wedge goes on easily under the bed and stays in place. I really needed the elevation because of reflux problems. I am thankful to have found it. Money well spent. Definitely helps with the health problem. Seems to be very good quality.

I'm sleeping much better - Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
I have a heart problem and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis - also HORRIBLE sleep. Mild sleep apnea. I bought this out of desperation hoping it would help with the brain inflammation and because an M.E. expert said that elevating the head above the feet by 6 inches would help increase blood volume. I don't know if it is doing either of those things. What I do know is that for reasons unknown it is really helping me sleep more restfully. I have always had night terrors - terrible dreams accompanied by physical sensations like choking, sweating, terrible sensations in my heart like someone digging their fingertips in and squeezing. I usually wake up feeling like I just ran a marathon with my eyes closed. For reasons I do not understand I'm no longer getting the physical sensations along with the night mares and I'm waking up feeling a little bit rested. I'm still having the same night mares - just not all the physical strain that used to go along with it. Very strange - but good! More good stuff about this: M.E. will make you spend A LOT of time in bed and my back always gets really sore - this seems to be helping with that as when my back starts to get sore now I just put pillows under my feet and legs and my body being in a 'v' shape seems to alleviate the back pain. I am very surprised that the foam can support both me and my mattress without sagging and making my bed too soft. Also, I am very VERY sensitive to fumes of any kind and I was shocked that this foam product didn't make me sick when it came out of the package - so two thumbs up for that! Many bedding and household products will make me sick when they are new. It took me about 2-3 weeks to get used to the slope. I don't slide down it much at all (maybe 6 inches over 8 hours if that) but for those first few weeks I would think that I was sliding the last few hours I slept and wake up like 'ohhh nooo!!" That sensation is gone now. The only complaint I have to spend a lot of my time dozing on and off in bed and I usually sleep with a lot of random stuff in the bed that I need either for work or for comfort - phones, notepad and pen, remote control, hat, scarf, lip gloss. That stuff does tend to slide down now and end up lost in the blankets somewhere near the middle of the bed instead of just hanging out by my pillow where I usually keep it all handy. Totally solvable by getting some kind of bedside table though and totally worth it for the increased restfulness I've been feeling. I like to sleep between two body pillows as well and those do tend to end up at the middle or bottom of the bed - it's half annoying... but half convenient as usually by the time they are at the bottom of the bed, I've been asleep long enough that my back is starting to get sore (I'm talking like 10-12 hours or more) and it's time to put my legs on the pillows to help with the back pain anyway. I think people who don't sleep as long or with all that stuff in their bed won't have an issue lol. For that 2-3 week period of getting used to it I was really wondering if I should have bought the one that only slopes 4 inches but now I'm very very happy with this product! I'll be traveling soon and I really don't know how I'm going to go back to sleeping on a flat surface!

Helps some issues, but has caused others.
We bought this to help reduce acid reflux, help with breathing issues, and dizziness (inner ear issues). Raising the head of our bed was not an option so this was a great alternative. It DOES help with acid reflux, reduces snoring, and has almost completely cleared up the dizziness. However, the rise is so substantial that getting in bed is a challenge and it's easy to fall out when reaching for the night stand! In hindsight I wish we would have bought the 5 inch rise instead of the 7 inch. But when we read the reviews people said the 5 inch was too subtle and wished they'd gotten the 7 inch so that's why we opted for the higher rise. We figured our weight would squash it down to 5 inches haha! Not so! It keeps its full rise. We did not see in the description that you need to pull this product out of the packaging and let it fluff up for several hours before putting it under your mattress. We were doing this at bedtime and did not wait several hours. We put it under our mattress straight away and it didn't seem to matter, so take that for what it's worth. It's very soft! Add comfort to your mattress for sure! Our queen size came in two twin size pieces. Overall I'd say it's a good product for sure, it takes some getting use to. We've had it for a couple weeks now and are finally settling in. We do slide down the hill a bit in the night!

Performs perfectly for my needs, elevating my head while lying flat.
I found this wedge to be perfect for my needs. I bought this to help with sleep apnea, plus I just like to have my head elevated, always have. The 7" elevation seems perfect, I would not want it to be less (5 inches) and any higher and I'd probably start to slide down the bed. I much prefer the full bed wedge verses just the pillow type wedges. I'm more comfortable being able to lie flat as opposed to bending my back to raise my head. Very much a personal choice. I did have one concern from reading the reviews before buying, and that was the firmness or compressibility. For me, being around 180lb, it does not seem to compress at all! Just to be clear, I place the wedge under my mattress, not on top of it. It arrived compressed and rolled up. I unwrapped it and let it swell to full size for a good 8 hours. Then placed it under the mattress and slept on it that night. I did not notice any odor. I'm very happy with this product and recommend it to others. Great quality and performance. Best of luck.

YES! 100 TIMES - YES!!! So much better than a wedge pillow!!!
First of all, I was pretty pissed when this first arrived and only half of it was in the box! I got the queen, which comes in two pieces. I sent a message thru Amazon to seller - and it wasn't very nice. Short and harsh - because I was pissed! This was on a Sunday so I was surprised to get a response that same day. They apologized and said they would take care of it. They shipped the other piece the very next day and I had it within 2 days! So customer service gets an A+ from me!! This thing is a little pricey, but so far, it's worth every penny! I've been dealing with acid reflux for years and wedge pillows just don't work for me. I used a wedge for years, but I would normally slide off of it and end up with acid reflux multiple times per night. Plus, I'm a side sleeper, which is hard to do on a wedge. I would end up a lot of mornings with a kink in my neck from sleeping in the wrong position. And my doctor told me with the wedge, I was bending my body right where my problem is - making it worse. This mattress elevator is so nice because it goes between the box spring and mattress - so I get to sleep like normal again on just my mattress with my pillows! I got the 7" and it's perfect. It takes a little to get used to, but after using a wedge pillow, getting used to this was a piece of cake. I was concerned that it would get smashed because I have a huge ultra plush mattress - very thick and very heavy. Plus I'm a larger person... It might compress slightly, but not enough to matter. My only problem was my bed was already pretty high before adding this - and I'm short - so it makes it harder getting in and out of bed. I had to put a little single-step stool by the head of my bed to aid getting up onto the bed! And this this stays in place. The mattress elevator has not shifted since placing it, my mattress has not slid at all, and I have not slid at all. I am very pleased with this purchase! I would recommend to anyone with acid reflux!

Did not help with GERD, but did create back pain and a frustrating return without a full refund
I was very excited to learn about the existence of an inclined mattress support. It seemed like it would help my issues, as I have slept with various above mattress wedges, extra pillows, etc for years. When I got it, I quickly found out it did not help my GERD. The bigger issue, however, was that it was causing me to slide down my bed in the night. This feeling was very unnatural and worsened my sleep quality as I could feel the minor sliding motion and friction throughout the night. I am 6'0" and 165lbs for reference. I would wake up with back pain, which only worsened as I continued to use this product. I eventually was fed up with it, and decided to return it, which opened up a slew of new issues. Please note as THIS IS NOT WRITTEN ON THE PRODUCT PAGE: "The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund." You cannot try this product out to see if it works without being on the hook for it. This is very annoying as I have never had this issue with an Amazon Prime item before, and again, was not mentioned once during the purchase process. This also seems like a racket to me as they recommend you place them into two separate boxes that "should be 30 x 20 x 20 (queen), or 38 x 20 x 20 (king)." Acquiring those boxes is $30-40 alone, then I get an extra amount deducted from my refund (which will be closer to the full product cost of $150 to ship two massive boxes across the country...). So what am I going to be getting in return? Hopefully more than nothing to ship these two pieces of junk back. If you decide to go ahead and purchase this, be mindful of this policy and that you 100% WANT the product. You don't want to deal with this headache of a return process. Finally, the product itself isn't anything special. It's just straight cut dense foam. The edges aren't rounded or anything, and it discolors and attracts dust/hair like any other dense foam. Maybe the 5" version is better as it doesn't make you slide down as much, I'm not sure. But if I were you and looking at purchasing something like this I would at a minimum go for a lower incline. Best of luck everyone.

This Really Works
For me this works better than an adjustable bed.

Excellent for GERD/LPR, RLS, Sleep Apnea, Snoring
I bought this product in queen-size after being diagnosed with painful and potentially dangerous LPR ("silent reflux"), after years of already struggling with GERD. My doctor recommended a full-bed wedge as part of a broader plan to get and keep my acid reflux under control. He said his patients had said great things about this particular brand/product, and I bought one immediately. This product comes tightly compressed in a box that seems impossibly small for what's inside, and I followed the advice from other customer reviews to let the wedges (the queen size is actually two separate wedges) relax and "grow" to full size before putting them under my mattress. I'm a small female and had no trouble putting the wedges under my mattress once they were ready. The material stays in place once you get it where you want it, and the wedges line up together perfectly and stay that way. I put my sheets on the top mattress as usual and my comforter covers everything just fine, though of course there's no ignoring the slope the wedge creates. It was a little weird sleeping at such an angle the first night, but it felt natural within a couple of days and my nighttime acid reflux was immediately improved. There was also an unexpected benefit for my lower back and my symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome! My sister bought one after I raved about it, and found that it helped her snoring and sleep apnea as well as her own RLS. I highly recommend this product for anyone suffering with any of the conditions mentioned in this review, but especially acid reflux-related conditions. Forget the cheaper option of a wedge pillow... it's hard not to slide down and they're bad for your lower back. A full-size bed wedge is worth the money pretty much from Day One!
