Before I bought this item I had purchased another oximeter that was about £5 cheaper. However, it was extremely unreliable and completely failed after a few days, so I returned it and purchased this Beurer device. It works perfectly every time. My advice is spend the extra few pounds and get this item. It is very easy to use and reliable. I recommend it.

Accurate, reliable, outstanding battery life. Review by paramedic.
I bought this pulse oximeter in Feb 2024 for use in my paramedic role in a GP practice. I work five days per week, and use this pulse-ox daily, multiple times. The reading is displayed 0-99% (as opposed to 100%) which is acceptable at this price point I think. As it has no battery life indicator, my original plan was to wait until the battery ran out before reviewing it, so that I could document how long the battery life was. However, here we are in Sep 2024 and it is still going strong on it's original 2xAAA batteries, so I thought I'd just get on and review it now! The good : - Battery life is great, as noted above. - The display is bright, clear, and accurate. - Although there are no claims made towards this unit working on children, it will usually pick up a reading on around 4 years old and up. - It does pick up a reading reliably and quickly on almost all adults. - It also has a respiratory waveform reading. The bad : - The unit is a little on bulkier side compared to others. There a few lower priced units that are slimmer than this one. Having said this, the accuracy and reliability is better than the cheaper ones, so it seems a reasonable trade off. - The supplied Velcro fastening carry case is good quality, but is far too big for the unit! - Although there is a loop strap supplied, the hole through which you need to pass the thread to attach it to the main unit is so small that I was unable to attach this at all! The ugly : - Looking at the unit itself, it is not the most attractive design. Viewed from above, the display is off centre to the right, which just seems a bit sloppy really. Conclusion : There are a couple of minor reservations which prevent me giving this a solid 5-stars. It is however, a reliable and accurate unit, and a strong overall performer. For me, the accuracy, battery life, and reliability justified the slightly higher price over the many available cheaper sub £20 units.

Brilliant, wouldn't be without it now
Brilliant gadget. My son was in hospital with a low blood oxygen level when he had a chest infection and I've been a little paranoid anytime he gets a cough/cold since then, that his blood oxygen levels might drop again. This device means I can keep check of it at home and stop stressing! My little boy is younger than the recommended age to use this device and expect to get a reliable result but it does still work and I think as long as you don't panic as soon as you get one low reading then its fine to use on younger children. He was 2 years old when we first got this, so his fingers were small and he wriggled around, on the rare occasion we got a low reading I just repeated 3 or more times to check its consistently low before worrying. He's now nearly 3 and will sit and happily have his finger in the device

Cheap Feel Plastic
This arrived well-packaged but on opening the box it was packed with multiple language information sheets - and a device in what I would describe as cheap-feel plastic. I have had others over the years that had a much more solid feel, This one works ok on arrival, but I am unimpressed overall
