Excellent Value, Limited Watch Face and App Ecosystem
To frame this review, I'd like to point out that I purchased this entirely for sleep and exercise tracking and am using a normal digital wristwatch for normal watch functions. This thing has great battery life, looks sharp, and is a great size for readability. The UI is fairly easy to use and the touchscreen is responsive. I haven't used all of the features but lets go over the ones that I have. SLEEP TRACKING: This is the first device I've used that does sleep tracking and it seems to do a good job of it. The graphs are informative and it has helped me tighten up my sleep schedule automatically. I'm not sure of the science behind how it detects different states of sleep but it seems to be at least somewhat accurate. On days that show that I had more deep sleep, I certainly do feel more rested. MUSIC CONTROL: I use this to control my music or podcasts when working out. It works great and includes all the buttons you would need for that. ALEXA: The Alexa feature works great using the built in microphone. I do miss the built in speaker of the Bip 5 and the dedicated button that allow you to access this feature quickly but you can only fit so much into a small package. I use the Alexa feature regularly to set a quick countdown timer, a nap alarm, or to create reminders. It has also been useful for settling debates quickly e.g. "What quarterback has the most passing yards of all time". WORKOUT TRACKING: I've only used this with stationary workouts on an exercise bike but it does a good job of tracking and graphing your workout. WEATHER: The built in weather app works well and includes sunrise/sunset data as well as a 7 day forecast. It's good info at a glance but lacks detailed forecast information such as hourly forecasts. NOTIFICATIONS: The notifications system works well. You opt-in to each service you'd like to receive notifications for and your band will vibrate when one comes in. It's great at a glance. You can deny calls from the watchface, and send preset text messages (that you can customize in the app) when rejecting the call. I really wish they had programmed it to where you could respond to text messages with canned messages as well. Simple "Yes", "No", "I'm on the way", "Running late" etc would be extremely helpful. APPS / WATCH FACES: I counted roughly 30 free watch faces in their app store. The vast majority are paid options but I was able to find several free that suited me. There aren't a lot of apps to choose from and I didn't find anything in the app store that seemed useful to me in my daily life. POMODORO TIMER: This is a very simple feature but it can be life changing if you use it correctly. Basically this is a timer where you alternate between focusing on a task and taking a break. A popular setup is 25 minutes of focus followed by a 5 minute break. I regularly use this in my work to make sure that I stay on task, while not sitting on a single task so long that I am spinning tires.

Love this!
After looking for something smaller while displaying basic information and had a good app, I found this. I really love it so far! I love being able to see the time, steps, and weather at a glimpse without getting out my phone. I also enjoy the app and how it shares data with Apple Health. The app and tracker are easy to use - plus the app has a lot of awesome, free fitness tracking gestures! So far, it is amazing for the price I paid and is worth what I spent!

Good Value
I had an Amazfit Band 5 that was unfortunately lost after several years of use. This updated model is great! It has a bigger screen, has more monitoring capabilities, and seems to better record steps, sleep, etc. It connects to the app seamlessly, but does seem more prone to accidental touch / activation such as random settings occurring in the shower than the prior version. Overall, it's a good item for a decent price.

Great for me
Band is comfortable, adjusts securely, dries out easily and records pulse reliably. It is hard to connect strap one handed for the first time. I have size large mens hands and taking it on and off without fully uncoupling it is a squeeze. Overall I really like it but wish it were a little longer.

Loved it, but not anymore
UPDATE: I had such high hopes for this product (see original post below) but now that I have been using it for less than a month: 1) I can no longer trigger it to come on through wrist activation-even after resetting etc 2) The distance calculator for running is off by about .2 miles 3) the brightness of the watch face (regardless of the background) has decreased overtime and nothing seems to be able to fix it 4) The watch is hit or miss in terms of activating it with touch so now not only does it not wrist activated, you never know if you will be able to activate it or not with touch Original POST: I have used several fitness trackers (Fitbit, Garmin) and recently got fed up with my Fitbit because I could never read the watch face if I was outside. I wanted to try something new, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I like to use my fitness tracker for overall steps, calories and to see overall mileage during a run as well as overall calories burned during other workouts. I decided to get a refurbed Amazfit as the price was incredible. Here is what I LOVE about the watch and a few comments about what I will need to get used to: LOVE -there are so many watch faces to chose from, and everyone I have tried makes it so easy to see the information no matter where I am -love the look of this watch, it's a bigger face than my old Fitbit and I think the design is excellent -battery life is great -it was so easy to set up and the app is easy to navigate -love all the different workout options that are included, I swim a lot in the summer and it was fun to track it -just love it overall GETTING USED TO -it presents calories as Kcals and there is no way to change this, so I am learning how to convert to regular calories burned, a little annoying but considering how much I love the watch overall, not a big deal After two days with my Amazfit, I can't imagine ever using a Fitbit again. Even if the watch lasts only a year (hopefully not the case) at less than $40 it was a great purchase.

Good, but demands attention frequently
So, disclaimer: this is my first fitness watch, so some of my responses to it might be shaped by the fact that I didn't know what to expect and some of the flaws might be shared by all fitness watches. What I liked: I liked having my steps recorded. I liked tracking my workouts. I liked having a watch. I think the "find my phone" feature is useful. It holds a charge for a long time. The band seemed comfortable. What I didn't like: The #1 most annoying thing is that it deletes your watchface regularly. If you touch your watch or if it brushes up against anything, there will be a very brief alert. Since I have to put on my reading glasses to see it, and the notification is not retrievable later, I had no idea that it was asking me if I wanted to delete my watchface. The first watchface I had was deleted and not replaceable. I downloaded another one from the phone app. This was a constant irritant-I can't wear it for sleep monitoring (there's apparently no way to shut out the bright light anyway) because it will delete my watchface. I can't wear it inside my wrist as I have worn my watch for 45 years, because it will delete my watchface. There is a way to lock your watch, but not only is the icon on what to do to lock it incomprehensible, but it locks everything, so if you want to monitor your workout, you'll have to unlock it first. The second most annoying thing is the workout list scrolling away. So you have an insane number of workout choices, which is fun. It's hard to find the one you want - the best way is to ignore the ones they offer and go down to "all workouts" and go from there. You have to read fast, because the name of the workout scrolls sideways before you can read all the ones on the screen-not for more information, just to empty space (developers: just because you CAN do something doesn't mean it's a good idea). The third most annoying thing is the alerts. Again, you get these pop-up alerts that disappear before you can get your reading glasses on and then aren't in a notification screen, so it was a couple of weeks before I caught what the hell they said. They are notifications that I've met my "standing goal" and a few other goals. Goals that I never set or want, and you can't turn off the notifications for. Some of the features are not available without an upgrade or a subscription, which I'm not interested in. So, I like it, but it's a very needy little thing. I really wasn't looking for something that demands my attention this frequently.

Would buy again!
I've bought this three times now. Twice for myself (I lost one) and once for my partner. I love the app, I love all the options for tracking, messages, calls, etc. I'm happy with the size of the display, other activity watches are too big! Battery life is great.

quality Fitbit knock-off
I've been using the AmazFit band 5 for years. I keep losing them. The little pin on the band wears out the silicone and they fall off. I am trying the Amazfit band 7 and like the size of the face better (old eyes). It also has 24 hr heart rate monitoring, and auto detects activity. I mostly mountain bike and wish it could detect that but detecting general cycling is okay. for the price, this is a fantastic activity tracker. I haven't lost the first one, yet, but it has the same silicone and pin combination. There are 10-packs of the band 5 bands that could relace the worn bands before losing them. I haven't seen the reasonably priced band replacements for band 7 watches. Another big negative, for me, is that the band 5 charging cables do not charge the band 7. There's an arbitrary physical difference that keeps the band 5 for touching the charge pads of the band 7, boo-ooo!
