I recently purchased these as my usual brand was out of stock. Both items are the same price but these are not as plump and meaty-looking as the other brand. I give them to my chickens, so they don't care; but the difference was obvious. Still a good product.

Sunflower seeds are a staple in our family - they are one of the healthiest types of seeds/nuts for healthy protein and fats, and are low in harmful oxalates and lectins that are found in almonds and other nuts. Sunflowers have traditionally been grown primarily in the US, but today the majority of sunflower seeds and sunflower butters are now cheaply imported from eastern Europe where there is a high chance of spoilage, mold, improper pesticide use, toxic metals and waste in the soil, and possibly even leftover radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. In contrast, these Sunbest seeds are labeled on the package as Product of USA, and they taste fresh. Their website demonstrates they have high standards of cleanliness and purity in their processing. Grew up on a farm, know what quality fresh sunflower seeds are. Five pounds, good source of fiber, they roast well if you want. Nuff said
