Good Tai Rubber Jig Head, Poor Rigging Quality Out of the Box
I want to be clear and fair with this review because there are two very different things going on here. The tai rubber jig head itself is solid. The weight, shape, and finish of the jig ball are good and feel appropriate for sea fishing. From that perspective alone, it has potential. Unfortunately, the rigging (skirt and hook assembly) is where things fall apart. The skirt is held together by a very thin red thread, and as soon as I took the jig out of the package, that thread came loose and the skirt separated. This wasn’t from fishing or abuse—just normal unboxing. I’ve included a video showing what happened and how I had to fix it myself by re-tying the skirt. At around $24 for three jigs (about $8 each), I expected much better quality control. Having to repair a brand-new rig before it even touches water is disappointing. If you’re buying this specifically for a ready-to-fish tai rubber setup, this may not be worth it unless you’re comfortable re-rigging it yourself. Pros: • Jig ball weight and shape are good • Suitable size range for tai rubber fishing • Jig head itself feels solid Cons: • Poor rigging quality • Skirt thread came apart immediately • Not ready-to-fish out of the package • Overpriced for the level of finish
