Simple PoE Switch That Just Works
NETGEAR 8-Port PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Essentials Switch (GS308PP) This switch does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I’ve got several PoE devices running off it so far with no issues at all. Power delivery has been solid, and everything connected has stayed up and stable. It’s an unmanaged (dumb) switch, so there’s no setup—just plug it in and go. It handles both data and power without any problems. After a power loss, everything came back online quickly with no hiccups, which is always a good sign for reliability. If you need a straightforward PoE switch that just works without any extra configuration, this is a solid choice. Plug It In. It Just Works.

Solid hardware
Here is a product I am actually professionally qualified to review. I have over 30 years of experience in computers and networking, so I have seen a few switches in my professional life, both good and bad. Netgear is a brand I will purchase for personal use. I have several of them around the house. I have also used them at work when I have a place with a single network drop and several devices that need network access. They are convenient and dependable work horses. This switch also comes with POE, which means you can power a wireless access point without using an adapter. It is unmanaged, so you can plug it in and use it with no worries about network addressing. I counted the number of devices I have on my network at home, and it is embarrassing. I can almost max this switch out, and that doesn’t include wireless devices! I am sitting at 12! Wireless raises that number by another 8 or so. Not bad? 3 people! This Netgear handles the throughput to our backbone to the Internet. I am not talking about a few emails here, but movies, YouTube, online gaming, software updates and downloads, blog updates, and a Zoom on occasion. I can always run a speed check and get 950 gbit or more, up and down. It will get warm, so give it a little bit of an air gap. This is a solid piece of hardware that I can recommend! The features ratings above are not applicable. There is no WiFi and I don't need Tech Support or a user interface.

works as expected. good product, nice price.
Its a 8 port POE switch. Works as expected. Its capable with 8 POE ports but if you want to use all you will need to purchase the optional high power wall wart. For a few low power POE needs to will work just fine.

Reliable switch to provide network and power to your downline devices.
I used these to power a mesh extender network for commercial use. The POE+ capability provided ample power for 6 satellite mesh devices...plus the backhaul connected to a port. They have been running without issue for over a month. I imagine it would also work great for security cameras.

Works great
Works great. Powers and runs my two Aruba access points with no issues. Just like any switch super easy to connect and worth the money.

I like Netgear
This is my fifth one and I'm pretty happy with it. Haven't had any problems and it can be accessed remotely for those who feel in need to access it remotely. Remote access allows for assigning power to different ports, but I found that this has plenty of support to power anything I've plugged into it.

Netgear makes great POE switches
As an IT guy, I always try to keep one or two of these on hand. They are quick and convenient in restoring power to cameras or access points, point to point systems, etc. 4 POE and 1 uplink - Netgear is always reliable!

Reliable PoE switch from a brand I trust
I love Netgear and already own multiple Netgear switches—this one fits right in. Setup was truly plug and play, and it’s been running flawlessly so far. It’s a great compact option if you need a few PoE ports without the complexity of a managed switch. That said, I’d love to see Netgear offer more competitive pricing like TP-Link does. Their quality is excellent, but affordability would make it even easier to recommend. Solid build, dependable performance, and ideal for small setups or travel kits.
