Summit Treestands Universal Backpack System

he Summit Universal Backpack Harness has made a noticeable difference in how comfortable it is to carry my tree stand. It’s designed to work with various stands—I use it with a Summit Viper—and it fits well. The padded shoulder straps and base distribute the weight evenly across my back and shoulders, which reduces strain compared to the standard straps I used before. On a recent two-mile hike to my hunting spot, I found it much easier to carry my stand without the usual discomfort, I would normally be struggling but it was like I had a normal pack on. The harness also has neoprene-covered buckles that keep noise down while moving through the woods. It’s a practical upgrade that improves the overall experience of transporting a tree stand. For anyone looking to make carrying their stand more comfortable, this is a solid choice.

This backpack system makes a huge difference carrying my stand in and out compared to the original straps. The straps are well padded and very comfortable. The weight of my stand feels evenly distributed across my shoulders and doesn’t strain my lower back. It did take me a few attempts to get it on my stand just right. But the straps seem durable and I would recommend this to anyone with a summit stand.

This harness is much better than the bungee straps a Summit Viper comes with. No more bouncy straps and feels more comfortable since the straps are wider and padded. Very happy with this set-up.

This was my second Summit Viper. I had the older model for literally 15 years and it still works fine…just wanted a new stand. Climbs great and always high quality with Summit Products!

Upgrade from standard straps. This is a lot more comfortable and quiet than the standard straps. Makes it really easy to disconnect and get set up quickly.

Much more comfortable than the basic straps that came with the stand. However, I find the shoulder straps to be a little short as the buckle is basically in your armpit making tightening or loosening the shoulder straps difficult. There is padding over the chest strap buckle that makes it very difficult to buckle or unbuckle and the left side of the chest strap is very short. The buckle should be positioned more towards the center of the chest and not on the side. Also the shoulder straps need to have the running end sewn over to create a tab to prevent them from continually slipping out of the buckle when you take the stand off.

A huge upgrade over the factory painful straps that come on most viper stands extremely adjustable. Set it up how you want. The padding is awesome. Makes packing in the stand way nicer.
