It's called a "foot corrector" what exactly about the foot is it expected to "correct"?

How exactly does this exercise the foot? It looks like a slightly raised platform on a spring that is pushed down by the heel. Is that right?

Most of the exercises are done with the toes and the ball of the foot with the heel planted which is opposite of what they are doing. You might want to do some research on Pilates Foot Corrector Exercises. Think of tapping your foot to music only with weight resistance using just your toes or the ball of your foot while standing and thinking about what your abdominals and supporting muscles are doing while you do the exercise. This works into the arches, strengthens the toes. The Foot Corrector can get deep into the arch muscles like nothing else I have tried.

What is the difference between using this or the foot bar of a reformer?

The Foot Corrector is a unique standalone piece of equipment with it’s own set of exercises that has nothing to do with the reformer’s foot bar. Why would you even think that somehow they’re interchangeable?

Continuing my PT at home with this device

I began using the Joseph Pilates version of the foot corrector in PT, I have inflammatory artheritis that effects my feet making the simple act of walking difficult and painful. The foot corrector has helped elevate my pain and swelling. This version is excellent and effective. It is well built, I hope to have and use this for many years.
