Having spent an embarrassingly long time reviewing rotary airers online, I bought the Brabantia Lift-O-Matic- 60 Metres. Really pleased I did. I was a bit worried about the ground spike, we have very ‘stoney’ grass and I wasn’t convinced it would go in at all - let alone straight, but it did. This is a really good quality item. Sturdy, well made, with so much space for clothes and bed linen. The lift action on this is a dream - it glides effortlessly to the highest setting. It is a lovely height for me, I’m 5ft 6, and I can walk past it without fear of banging into the corner arms. I wasn’t sure if the 60 metres would look too big for where I wanted it, a small corner of my garden, but it is perfect. I wanted to keep the lines clean, so I bought the Brabantia Premium Protective Cover separately, available on Amazon. Really worth buying, very good quality, with zip to make it easier to put on - looks good too.

After several years of use I had to replace on old green rotary dryer which was already in place when we moved in a number of years ago. My mother used a Lift-O-Matic and I thought that would be best as it is possible to change the hight when needed. For some of the bedding or the rather long bath towels I like the rotary dryer just a little bit higher so that the washing does not brush the lawn. The thing to bear in mind when replacing any old dryer is that the diameter of the pole could be different. I was able to pull the plastic sleeve out of the concrete with no problems (alternatively it is wise to carefully measure the diameter) and took it with me to a store. It fitted the Brabantia rotary dryer perfectly, so that was reassuring but as it was more expensive in the store and rather long to transport in the car, I decided to order from amazon. No regrets. It is well made, the washing lines are not hanging in bows but always straight, it is a one hand operation to open it up like an umbrella, it is very lightweight and so we remove it for the winter season and place it in the garden shed, it is a very sturdy and strong construction which has coped with some very strong winds since we bought it last year. And because you can set the Lift-O-Matic to your own preferred height and can adjust this by moving the umbrella up or down inch-by-inch this is perfect for someone smaller, or when you want to air a heavy duvet on top of the structure. I do recommend to buy the Brabantia cover for it at the same time, to keep it always clean. Excellent buy!

Great rotary dryer with galvanised ground spike. Arrived well packaged and few days after ordering. You can drive the ground spike into the ground if you wish, but I preferred to concrete in place. The dryer opens easily and the height is fully adjustable. Construction is good and the dryer should last a long time is looked after. I've bought a zip up cover to put over it when not in use. All in all a good quality rotary dryer.

Brabantia are never cheap, but they usually make a strong, well engineered product that looks as if it will last. And this dryer is no exception. It comes complete with a ground spike, but I found it would also fit the socket of my previous dryer, so I'm keeping it in reserve. There are some well thought out features. Both the top and bottom arm brackets can be positioned up and down the pole. Move them apart or together and the dryer folds up or erects as in all other makes and models, move them both in the same direction and you can set the height of the whole arm assembly above the ground. The line is in individual sections, one per turn, and it looks as if it will make repairs much easier should they be needed; other makes use a single length of line in a spiral which is always difficult to adjust to get all arms level and all line spans reasonably taught. It has a surprisingly long length of line, and in my case it replaces a slightly smaller 3-arm model (different make) and a length of line strung between the house and a shed. 6 months later. Another excellent design feature. Because each turn of the line is a separate piece of rope, and after some use they inevitably stretch slightly and go slack, they can be re-tensioned just by moving the two arm brackets a notch closer together, thereby spreading the arms a bit. The lines will slide through their holes and take up the tension evenly - try doing that with a dryer strung with one continuous piece of line.

Very strong and sturdy clothes line... ideally the ground spike needs to be set in concrete as the main piece is quite heavy and when loaded with washing needs a very stable base. Good quality item

Now that’s a great rotary line! A little more than I wanted to pay…but so worth it. Very robust and so nicely designed. The first one of these I had, lasted over 16 years, and the cheaper one was false economy, only lasting 2 years. Love the new design and ample room for bedding with a good sturdy underground spike that doesn’t allow the socket to fill with rainwater. Highly recommend..thank you

Bought to replace old rotary clothes line. Excellent quality and perfect size for family sized washing load. Easy to assemble.

Product arrives in a large cardboard box that is about two meters long. It’s a nicely finished product. Looks expensive. It's mostly in one piece. Removing the outer plastic film and the ground-spike falls out, which has been split in half. I am not completely sure why they supplied it in two halves, but it only takes a minute to join them together. While the spike is strong, the moment I looked at it I realised it was not going in my soil. My back garden in heavy, compacted clay soil. No way it would go in to that. So, change of plan, I had to dig a "post hole" in ground and pop out for some quick-set concrete. I used a couple of pieces of wood and cable ties to point the pole straight up, then surrounded the spike with concrete, fairly dry so it didn’t ingress in to the hole in the spike, and left it be for a few hours. No doubt it will move, in time, but for the moment it’s vertical and strong. Using the line, it's very smooth to lift and nice and tall so you can get the washing well off the floor. It's also easy to adjust the line so the height is lower for people of a lesser loftiness. Everything works very well. Pleased with the purchase. It's worth the extra little money it costs. Recommended.

Dopo averlo sperimentato per un lungo tempo, devo dire che è uno stendibiancheria molto robusto, che può essere anche regolato nelle altezze. Si riesce a stendere più lavatrice alla volta e l'aria passa con facilità permettendo un asciugatura regolare. Sono molto soddisfatta dell'acquisto se avete spazio lo consiglio

This is a well engineered clothesline. I saw these rotary ones in movies and such but only had a linear one before myself. This particular one has an adjustable height, which allows it to be easily adjusted to the height of the parents or kids responsible for hanging out the laundry. It also is removable from its base in case you want to store it inside during some months. There is a design defect of sorts though. When your kids pull the clothes off, it can and will break the little connectors that hold each wire in place. So you lose wires until they stop pulling. Clothes have to be gently lifted straight up and no force applied to the cable. That is hard for short people. This problem could be fixed with better crimps. The crimps really are not strong enough. Perhaps the device could come with a little bag of extra crimps to handle this. A second problem is that the lines are so closely spaced that if you put things on each line, they are very slow drying compared to doing every other line. This second problem though is fixed by the first problem. After many lines have been torn off by pulling clothes instead of lifting, you have wider spacing automagically! We've learned to live with these problems and it's been a long time since a line was broken. Bottom line is this is a great clothesline, despite there being some things that can be done to improve it.
