This is my savior from flies. I place several fans on a patio table. Works good. Light weight. Long battery life. And it is easy of use. If a hand accidentally gets caught in the blades, it stops.

Good and useful

Okay, c'mon people. These either run on batteries or run on electricity. You CANNOT charge them as there is no internal battery! For a while I would run them with my portable battery and a USB, but it gets a little messy if you are doing that with a few because the usb cords will be every where. I just use AA batteries now, and they run forever on them. I've been using my fans for many months now and I've never had to change them. If the batteries died today I wouldn't be upset because of how long they've lasted. Those fans must draw a miniscule amount of power. Oh, and flies hate them! But smaller gnats don't seem fazed by them at all. As a bonus, if you have a bird problem somewhere around the house or yard, these fans keep them away as well. They hate the spinning reflective fan blades. I have a bunch of visiting cedar waxwing birds that have really taken to my pond - dozens of them were happily bathing in there this morning. Unfortunately they were also pooping all over our outdoor furniture. These fans keep them out of that end of the stream, but they still have plenty of stream and pond to use away from that area.

I had seen similar fans on tv and I really wanted to try. We have a nice outdoor space and love to entertain outside — however, it’s annoying to have to wave bugs away or it’s gross so see bugs around the food. I placed a couple strategically on my food tables & the fans truly kept the bugs away!! I particular like how the fan can be angled slightly. They’re easy to charge and also take up little space to store. I hosted my book club and a handful of people ordered the fans too.

I ordered these with very low expectations, but they are drastically reducing the number of flying insect pests in a common outdoor stairway area in my building. I’ve also taken one of these to a few different outdoor picnic areas, and have been completely un-bothered by flies/mosquitoes/yellowjackets which have previously been an issue in those same locations. The fold-out hook on the bottom gives some options for “permanent” installations, and it’s nice they can be powered by either two AA batteries or by a USB cable. A small solar panel will provide enough power to run one of these.

It is a useful product in monsoon season. The fan's speed is okay to keep flies away from the food. Such a great product.

Picked up this 3-pack in the white colour, and the clean design looks great on the outdoor dining table. The holographic pattern on the blades catches the light effectively without being too distracting. These have been wonderful for our long weekend BBQs at the cottage. They do a solid job of keeping pesky flies away from the food layout while remaining completely silent. The blades are incredibly soft, so there is no need to worry about hurting your hand when reaching for a platter. My only minor critique is that the battery compartment cover is a bit stiff to pop open at first, but overall, it's a very practical solution for outdoor dining.
